Hoodies are allowed opinions too, maybe just maybe he is a nice person and wants to warn others. Maybe he has a hidden agenda but for now I will give him the benefit of doubt before I use mine and kanger openly confirm.

Breathing in plastic is not good, I'm moving away from as much plastic as I can with the juices I vape, the block moving on a mech and blowing someone's face off certainly should have everyone's attention. This and other atty's should have a "L" shaped insulator to prevent this anyway IMHO, not that it would matter with this atty if this guy is correct because it's dissolving.

myepack can you confirm with kanger what exactly is the material before I use please, I got feeling while that video is doing the rounds they might well not reply to me.....!

It has been suggested that the seal could be effected by tank cracking juices, which seems a bit daft, having a glass tank to stop tank cracking with an insert that melts with certain juice!
A bit of a faux pas from the Kanger R&D department, should that prove to be the case.

just looked at mine, the insulator is a good design, they have locked the postive block. If kanger confirm the material properties or replace the insulator I'm fine either way.

Ah, is that what he said, I thought he said silicon which we all know can withstand high temperatures (they make bakeware don't they), but unsure about silicon dissolving liquids

I fitted the rba section to my subtank and ran some tank crackers through it and the insulator was fine no softening at all. I couldn't hear some of the audio as phone speaker is not very good but I think he had one of the early development versions and he was using pluid which is not exactly a common liquid and is well known for damaging things. I'll be keeping an eye on this but at this time I'm not overly concerned.

Silicon is an element, silicone is what they make bakeware from, silica is a mineral (and synthetic) compound of silicon.

Okay so is it silicone that they make the insulators from, I'm assuming it is, I know silica is the wicking material - never was much good at chemistry

Silicone has a melting point of no more than 300 Deg Centigrade so heat could be a factor here? Due to it's polysiloxane backbone (Silicon - Oxygen - Silicon) it is also a very unreactive substance because of the high bond strength between the Si-O atoms and there is nothing in eliquid that would cause the issues in the video. I'm at a loss to what it could be and waiting in interest at KangerTechs response.

If i had to guess i would say heat, the only chemicals that are going to do what the video shows are very strong acids.
