Does/Is anyone using scales to mix their liquids?

For me it is the only way to do it. So much easier, faster, and accurate.

I've been mixing by weight for a few months now and find it much easier.

My mixing sessions are usually about 250ml total made up of 4 or 5 juices.

I've got quite accurate at pouring straight from the VG & PG bottles. I keep intending to get some big squeezy bottles but never seem to get round to it.

Very important before you buy the scale to not have Auto switch off. Otherwise you should mix liquids in 10 seconds which makes it unusable. Concerning weights is not a problem. Many out there with ML and Grams so you don't have to do that in grams if you buy it just for this reason

I picked up the scale in your video: Smart Weigh SWS100 100 x 0.01g (plus a 100 Gram weight to calibrate it) for £12.

It's a pain that it times out but I hit the tare button after adding each ingredient to override the time-out.


I've decanted my nicotine concentrate, pg and vg into 100ml HDPE bottles with twist-top spouts to make mixing fast and easy.

100g is not enough for me. I make one juice 300mls at a time for a friend whose family all vape it.

Remember that the different ingredients are different densities or specific gravities and you need to adjust your proportions a tiny bit.
PG is 965.27 kg/cu.m
VG is 1259.37 kg/cu.m

Don't ask me for the method, I looked into it ages ago then bought 2 250 ml pyrex measuring cylinders & 2 100 ml plastic ones.

Digbys have a video doing the rounds showing them making a mix up, digital scales were being used to weigh ingredients

Any recipe that gives mls:- for PG & PG base flavours or nic it's mls X 1.04 for VG etc it's X 1.24.

I just made a spreadsheet up so it calculates the weight.
