ceedee managed to download and install software as well as enable grams but nicotine is blank. Nothing showing in the drop down box? Any suggestions? Are you using the portable version?

I've been using the desktop version (just updated to v.5004) not the portable but I think the only differences are file handling. Just enter your nicotine concentrate details as you would any other ingredient but click on the "Nicotine" radio button (under Ingredient Type, on the left). Once you've done that, your nic should show up in the drop-down box in Recipes. Weirdly, you can enter the details of multiple nicotine concentrates and then choose which one to use for each recipe but I've never figured out how to have several PG/VG options available. And I've still not figured out a format that works for ingredient's "Purchase date"...

I really don't see the need to be so accurate, unless you're a manufacturer making juice for resale. My mixes are consistant enough, mixing 200ml at a time using just a cylinder. I don't even use a syringe or a pipette anymore. In fact the only time I use a syringe now is to fill my SquapeR. I'm with qsplan, too much faff with converting weights for the ingredients. I realise you only have to do that just once, but still a faff.

I don't find it too much of a headache to work out the weight of 1ml of nicotine concentrate, pg and vg whenever you open a new bottle. And instead of forking out £26 for a fancy micropipette (that'll need cleaning after each and every use), I spent just £12 on a digital scale plus calibration weight from Amazon. For me, getting pin-point accuracy isn't the primary advantage of mixing by weight but the simplicity of the mixing process. Using a juice calculator and digital scales, I don't need any cylinders, pipettes or syringes (except for the odd bottle without a drip nozzle). While I take your point about making 200ml in just one cylinder, it's probably more common for people to be making several different mixes of 10-30ml bottles at a time. Using scales, I can produce six different mixes with five different flavours (ie. 30 flavours) at different quantities and nicotine strengths in about the same time it would have taken me to wash up all the kit I would have used if I'd mixed that lot by volume! Yesterday I found an interesting three flavour recipe and knocked up a 5ml sample while waiting for the kettle to boil. The accuracy of mixing by weight is important for those following recipes - particularly those based on FlavourArt's more concentrated flavours - that regularly require ingredients at 0.5% (that's 0.05ml in a 10ml mix) and sometimes 0.25%, which I suspect would be nearly impossible without using a scale. As with other facets of vaping, all our experiences and evaluations are personal and I fully respect both your opinions and just wanted to explain what I've found to be a faff-free, clean, simple and beyond everything else, quick method for mixing.

just wanted to explain what I've found to be a faff-free, clean, simple and beyond everything else, quick method for mixing. And explained very well indeed. I wasn't intending to put anyone down here. Even when i was mixing just 10ml testers I was only using a 5ml syringe. The difference between 2ml and 2.1ml of anything was undetectable. The only problem with using these scales that weigh to 0.01gm is I see some people thinking that going 0.02gms over on an ingredient will ruin the juice and they'll have to compensate - making mixing seem harder. An accuracy of 0.1gm is good enough I reckon. In my mind I just think I find it easier to measure 5ml of VG with a syringe than I would weighing 6.30gms of the same (SG of 1.26). Everyone has their favourite ways - there's no debate here, we all listen to each other

mike weaver93 Haven't logged in for a while so only just seen your tag. I mix by weight to minimise clean up rather than for super accurate mixing. Near enough is good enough for me so I just use one multiplier for all flavourings in PG & another for those in VG.
