I don't think it has anything to do with the batteries.

The best action ATM is follow lairey's example and check that area for getting hot (near the up button) while charging, vaping and after vaping and don't leave the battery in it overnight and maybe not leaving the battery in it if it's in a bag.  Of course the safest is not to use it.   Hopefully it's just a few units and the ones that don't get hot are OK, but we don't know so keep an eye on them for now.

There's no evidence (yet) that these even got warm before this happened. Only time will tell.

Gonna sell mine, I'm not going to carry on vaping it only for one day it does the same and then I can say, 'oh yes mine also melted down'

I'm a little annoyed that this thread is titled "Cloupor mini explodes".

It didn't explode it burnt out, theres a huge differance!

I have a Vapershark 30 that burnt out in much the same fashion, with electrical devices it happens!

Do we now not buy anything with an Evolve chip in it either?

I have a Clouper mini on the way, am I concerned, am I ( rude word )

Was going to add "selling like hot cakes" will mean more issues posted but the same spot doesn't look good.....OC or a design flaw?

eliminate the risk while charging by using a lipo bag but this one.....is it self firing?

Pic of the back of the board, it looks like one of the 4 black components under the middle button could be the culprit, probably the left one, they are probably voltage regulators, they are for higher currents hence the size.

Would explain the disappearance of the power+ button VapingBad, but it does look to me as if the heat source is the other side of the board, one of those ICs we suspected earlier. That's where all the charring seems to be centred anyway.

Don't panic anyone. There will be some way to identify a dodgy batch, probably through serial numbers or something.
