That sounds just like my house....Freezing inside doesn't get warm until late afternoon, and I have double glazing and draught proofing.

My House is Toasty!!! Had the cavity insulation and loft done Ten Years ago and it does make a vast difference, I've been up since Seven and I've only just put the Heating on!!!

Phoenix . I love getting calls from canvassers trying to sell me cavity wall insulation... I just say "If you drill a hole in my wall you'll need a lot of foam to fill it" it doesn't work too well if you dont have a cavity

 Poor you, it's horrible and only ever happens when it's freezing cold and all available emergency breakdown people are busy! Hope it's not a major leak Q and is soon sorted with no extra damage.

we too have solid walls, failed double glazing and nothing between us and the Pennines which makes it rather draughty. But we have a multifuel stove, oil central heating and the oil prices are the lowest for a looooong time

And a 6 foot long fisherman's rib (chunky) hand crocheted scarf

I am not wearing the scarf at the moment.....- tis too warm!
