Also visited Tenerife a couple of times Playa de Las Americas when the kids were teens, and Puerto De La Cruz in the north( hope that's spelt right) Lovely Islands Myself I don't like Gran Canaria, don't know what it is about that island but I just don't like it. Stayed up in the North, La Palma, and hated it. Took a bus down to the South which was a little better but still did not like it, so came back home to Tenerife after a couple of nights in the South, had enough of the place The islands I really like (other than Tenerife) are Las Palmas, La Gomera and Lanzarote. I really love La Gomera, a real small island that one, stayed there at Valle Gran Rey, not commercialised at all, very laid back, beautiful scenery on that island and the blackest of black beach is in Valle Gran Rey, just like rich black coal, mind you it gets bloomin hot does that black sand Puerto de la Cruz, my mother-in-law lived there for years before coming down to the South of the island, nice place but gets cold in the winter. Tends to be around 6 degrees cooler than the South of the island. My sister-in-law used to live a short distance away frolm Puerto de la Cruz up in Realojos right up high in the mountains, now that was damned cold most of the time brrrrrrr

and woke up this morning to water dripping from the loft hatch, looks like a burst pipe. Turned the water off and rang our emergency breakdown number, happy days Poor you, it's horrible and only ever happens when it's freezing cold and all available emergency breakdown people are busy! Hope it's not a major leak Q and is soon sorted with no extra damage. we too have solid walls, failed double glazing and nothing between us and the Pennines which makes it rather draughty. But we have a multifuel stove, oil central heating and the oil prices are the lowest for a looooong time Oil may be at its cheapest but (doing the company accounts) I've just seen my oil bill for 2013-14 .... £1800

We were in Poland in December couple of years ago, Sunday afternoon dropped to -14 (it never rose above -4 whole weekend), you could not vape because 1. Lungs hurt breathing 2. Juice went so thick no way would it wick, and if it did point 1 put vaping out of question. MP PS was in alps when I was young fit and healthy -27 one day, but I was stupid kid and thought bit chilly

Q just as a domestic user, it's not been exactly cheap until this last bill, and even then, it's not what I'd call cheap, just a whole lot cheaper than the last lot but it's either electricity or oil or flogas or freeze! However, spring is on its way.........

Big trouble I got is little car for work, in winter vape without windows open, inside more full of frozen water than outside, despite £1 shop dehumidifier crap inside lol, have to defrost outside then wait for inside to demist.

It was brass monkeys this morning in Aberdeenshire, a bit of snow last night froze solid. Took ages to scrape it off the truck windscreen. Much milder in Manchester

It dropped to -4.9C outside last night.... Phoenix . I love getting calls from canvassers trying to sell me cavity wall insulation... I just say "If you drill a hole in my wall you'll need a lot of foam to fill it" it doesn't work too well if you dont have a cavity Lol, I've even had them knock on my door & ask me if I'm interested in cavity wall insulation It's so flipping obvious that my cottage is far too old to have cavity walls.
