erl builds

Strange, mine doesn't seem to care how I build it. This time I put far too little rayon in the coil, Gurgled a bit for a couple of puffs - then fine.Got number 2 and 3 on the way, so will see how I go.

Got my FT mini erl today and built spaced like macmagoo's pic, but with 28 AWG 0.32 mm kanthal and rayon it reads 1.6 ohm and gotta say the flavour is very good for a cotton/rayon build, must be the small chamber and not too long chimney. Also getting a strong throat hit. Very easy to use atty, I suspect I may be getting more, shame about the drip tip though.

E: it's a noisy bugga too

Got two of these now and I do like them, might have to try a bigger one. Using the drip tip adaptor with a shorty in it feels better.

I'm getting leaking, probably wick a little short, but do you guys use the thin juice control ring or leave it out?

I had a drop or two of juice out of the bottom when I tried to reduce the amount of rayon in the 'shoulders'.
And I've always left the ring in place but suspect with rayon builds it's unnecessary.

as yet ive only had it leek once with cotton and i now tend to cut the wick about 1 maybe 2 mm past the shoulders

as for the juice ring whats that   tried it with and with out when i couldn't get it to work right but i dont use it now

For me with my 100% PG am finding that I just need a little wick past the start of the threads to stop the leaking, but if I don't it pisses out the air flow even on a stand. Tried taking the ring out and didn't make a difference, maybe good to hold the ends of a long wick. Not sure I have got it right with rayon and will try Jap cotton next.
