The one thing we're gonna keep coming up against is the mass of whatever we use to heat the juice. The heater has to be heated first, and the fastest and most efficient method we have at the moment is direct heating with a wire.
Ceramics are brittle and use a lot of heat power to 'preheat'. Ceramic semiconductors are prohibitively expensive, unless you're NASA.

As it's the wick that heats and induction hobs are even more responsive than gas or halogen the method seems sound. You just need some loops around the wick chamber and some control electronics, that will eventually be miniaturised. E: It was the Evoke

I've never seen that vid before VapingBad. Certainly making me think now. I did notice the heating time was ~10seconds, but with miniaturization (and reduced mass) this could be brought right down. It's not clear, was that standard wire wool he was using? Maybe SS or kanthal would give even better results. I see my man cave turning into a science lab now, thanks m8

For induction any metal will do. That's how generators work with copper windings.

For induction any metal will do. Needs to be ferrous Not all metals work, google induction hob cookware we have one and had to get ss pans with an insert in the base as the previous ss ones did not work.

I think that it is metals that will have significant resistance and therefore Joule heating with an induced current.

Someone needs to experiment and come up with the future of vaping tech, if you get a good idea and prototype off the ground I'll be happy to invest Just look at the coiling tools, people started wrapping wires around drill bits, then someone took it further by creating the coil jig, then someone took it another step further and created the BoomBoom coil winder, simple designs but innovative just the same...just goes to show that it can be done if you have the right idea.

No wick, the wick has to go, a temp sensor at the heat source and one in the chimney monitoring the vapor. That's the specification, must try harder......
