I joined a while back and I've been using a vv spinner with a Kanger Tech top
I now want an upgrade and I want to buy a mod
My friend has a really good one but he's ordered parts for it from everywhere including Fasttech and EBay, is this necessary? It seems like a lot of fuss, can I get a decent one here without paying through the nose?
Sorry for the long post

Certainly, have a look at Myepack in the UK, they stock anything from your starter kits up to Regulated and mechanical mods, you just have to decide what route you want to take.

I would advise a regulated mod to begin with and something like a Kayfun to go on top. Mechanical Mods are for more advanced users, and require more knowledge about battery safety. If you decide to go with any of the newer sub ohm setups ie a box mod with 20 watts plus and Subtank or Atlantis, be sure to purchase the correct batteries for use with these. I'd recommend Samsung 25R's

Can I just get a simple mod? Isticks have proved to be pretty good, and would possibly be a good start, only issue with the 20w ( original version) was the power it was putting out was about 1w above the figure being displayed, not an issue if you disregard the reading and just set it below, ie if you got burning of the cotton say at 10w, drop it to 9w and try again. Not sure but I think I saw it mentioned that this has been resolved on the 30w and shortly to be released 50w versions.

Tests showed that 6w was in fact 10w so the original iStick was miles out as those that own them know too well. Never had so many dry hits in my life

And dial it down lol It didn't take me long to realise that a dripper with a 1ohm+ coil was the way to go with the original iStick At least then i was thinking about the dripper drying out and normally got there before it happened.
