Another use for DNA40 temp sensing

Been playing around with the DNA40 and this seems to be a pretty good tool for testing coil/wick performance. 

1. Set the temp to max
2. Set the watts to what you would expect for your coil/wick/astty setup. Fine tune it a bit in use.
3. Press the fire button and observe the temp display. Note the average temp.
4. Try a different setup, maybe different wick material, different coil design (same resistance).
5. Press the fire button and compare with the first one. Lower temp should mean better wicking.

This is just an embryo of an idea, I  am sure there are many ways it could be improved on and experimented with.

You will need to draw on it while you watch, airflow has a big effect on cooling.

I think it's a useful one too, having a better idea of what's going on ina build can only
Be a good thing.
I would imagine temp control will prompt a new evolution of tank design.

Have you got a bit of dry cotton and done the scorch test yet, keep going up 10 °F firing and seeing if it discolours. IIRC rayon got up to 510 °F.

I`m more interested in the wicking Vb, someone did a test on something called rami or remi? Cant find it now, but is supposed to wick better than cotton or rayon.

On a tangent, the infamous 'test' just debunked by Clive Bates where formaldehyde was emitted from a (crap) atomiser exceeding that from a stinky was repeated by a vaper, who measured the temperature required for 15% emissions at 600 Celsius. Compare that to a DNA40 running at 450F, that's 232C. And there was no juice cooling the coil in the test that produced the 15%. It's astonishing the lengths Antz will go to in order to 'prove' their case.

Yep that's exactly why they mad it, so it's there before the US regs are finalised to counter big tobacco's push to ban open system e-cigs so we are left with disposables, but there are still a lot of Evolv haters out there.

It's less BT, than Big Pharma though. Their sales of 'keep you addicted to Nicorinelle' is suffering, so they're on the offensive. 2015 will be the year of Us vs Pharma for sure.
