It's got to be on the horizon, even with the zinc alloy finish these are easy to damage. It'll either happen soon, or it won't happen at all. (Generic answer) Did you manage to switch your button over okay @zuza? Mine has just passed the pub test. LOOOOOAAAAADDDDDSS of interest!! I agree dickyg, despite the couple of negative reviewers I've seen these are monster mods Running at 45watts on a half charged battery I still haven't seen it reduce the power - yet!! What battery are you running yours on? I'm using a new Samsung 25r and its getting hammered at 21w.

I'm lucky dickyg, I have a couple of genuine VTC5s. I have 25Rs too, but I haven't tried them yet. tbh with how fast this charges don't think I'll be swapping too often

Think I will have to hunt around to buy some vtc5's then as the Samsung isn't going to last a shift at work.

If you do find some new VTC5s view them with suspicion, lots and lots of suspicion. You'll be better looking for VTC4s or even the VTC3s these days dickyg

Myepack have the 4s. Thought I would be better off with the Samsung when I ordered, but think I made a bad choice.

Not such a bad choice so long as you limit yourself to 50Watts

Okay, just dropped itself to 35Watts. Plugged the charger in at the battery is at ~30%. Not as bad as I've been reading, maybe I'm just so d**n lucky.

I'm at around 25-30watts so the 50 limit shouldn't be a problem

Maybe this could do with a lock on the power buttons. I've set it back to 45Watts and it's holding now, so maybe pilot error

Dropped to 40watts at 40% battery. Dropped to 35watts at 35%. 'Weak battery' at 30 %. This is with a 0.3ohm load initially at 45ohms and a VTC5.
I think this is something we'll just have to get used to.
Due to the way they work, as the battery volts drop the current increases for the same power. This power drop I believe is to protect the user. The other theory stands true too, as the volt drop increases (due to the discharged battery) the mod is reducing the power to protect the battery.
A hindrance? Yes! A problem? No!!
