Dropped to 40watts at 40% battery. Dropped to 35watts at 35%. 'Weak battery' at 30 %. This is with a 0.3ohm load initially at 45ohms and a VTC5. I think this is something we'll just have to get used to. Due to the way they work, as the battery volts drop the current increases for the same power. This power drop I believe is to protect the user. The other theory stands true too, as the volt drop increases (due to the discharged battery) the mod is reducing the power to protect the battery. A hindrance? Yes! A problem? No!! i think its a good idea adding that for safety but would be nice if there was a way to turn it off atleast you know it wont blow up pushing it

Haven't even tested mech mode yet. I've got to get all this set up with the oscilloscope tomorrow to see what's happening. If it's a true mech mode then I'll be well happy.

Sorted it @zuza Remove the battery Remove the top plate (it feels restricted by the thick wires but it does move out of the way). Holding the mod upside down keep pressing the fire button til the retaining plate falls out. The fire button will just fall out of the front. Replace with the button you want. Only replace the plate if you're using the hard button. The soft button doesn't need it and it could short the board's output. Reassemble and done My button was starting to stick out so I swapped it around. Followed these steps but no plate fell out. When you say plate do you mean the white plastic insert on the back of the hard button or a little bracket? It does look a bit funny but the feel is much better and no rattle.

It's held with a metal plate (I assume steel). If you notice there's a groove around the hard button that this plate slots into to hold it. It has been known for these hard buttons to get damaged and just fall out, I just don't fancy anyone having a piece of metal loose inside next to the board. I can't see them changing the design any, but it's always possible. Great to get rid of that clickiness and the rattle isn't it ervi There may be a difference with versions actually. The instructions as given are for the M50/M65. I'll amend the title.

Yes it is. Mine is a M65 (upgraded M50) My concern now is no metal plate came out. Where did the bugger go and is it stuck in there. I can see the button on the board, the rubber button is directly on top of it. Kind of looking at it worried now

mmm, raises two questions then:
1. Have they changed it to plastic from metal because of peeps just prising the button out? 2. Are there clones on the market?
Neither can be answered til more peeps have had a look.
If you give it a good up/down shake does it sound like something may be loose? If it has fallen down it wouldn't get past the display for sure.

I've seen it robby. tbh, for the extra 15watts the size is just too much for me.

That new tech is something I feel I don't need. Good coiling and glass tanks are my saviours for now. Not knocking it, just something I don't need.
