probs with taifun gs resistance

Has been a bit of an issue since using 40/60 VG/PG mix. Constantly (or after a day or less) throwing resistances on everything and getting hot in the process.

wicking fine just throwing resistances.

Could it be my mix? Only thing I haven't tried?

I think I just discovered the problem - wee bit of wire below the wire on the pin where I last rewired it causing it to slightly short

Who would ever have thought? I'm off the High PG mixes...

High PG only tastes good in the davide. Now taifun GS is all fixed it's horrid!!!

So back on my 40/60 PG/VG mix in the taifun and I'm vaping pineapple from @ukflavours and one slightly nuts bunny after missing choir trying to fix that stooopid tank last night!

I went back to 40/60 mix this am from last night's 60/40 (PG/VG) mix. Last night = resistance fine. Now it's gone up by 1 ohm in 12 hours?

Can thickness of liquid effect resistance? Anyone? djs Greg gordy180@chykensa

It could be caramelisation on the coil @johanino. The VG heavier juice will be slightly sweeter, so is likely to cause slightly more caramelisation, as the coil gunks up, the resistance increases a bit.

I wouldn't get too hung up about it Jane... if it's not hitting the spot, up the watts a bit

I'm still having problems with this thing throwing resistances on the VTR? Any ideas?

i've given the AFC (to protect the threads) a good clean with surgical spirit and also the connector on the taifun

Also gone round the threads on the connector with a baby wipe and finger nail. That's clean

Apart from gunk on coil any other ideas? Tis throwing between 2.0ohm and 5 or 6 ohm?

My problems are the other way with this one. It's showing as too low with a 1.8 ohm coil on my istick. Waiting for an ohm meter before I play any more with it. And a better mod. It worked on the e pipe mech mod, but as I don't know the resistance I'm a bit wary of running it too much with a mech mod.

It's not your taifun on this Bobsbeer - tis the istick

Over the weekend one second the istick would stay 4 ohms the next no resistance...

I'd get something to protect/aid the threads for the istick as well

I figure isticks are cheap and fickle

The resistance changing a little bit is pretty normal, but, that seems quite a lot.
Loose/bad connection at the coil posts ? Or even one of the posts coming a wee bit loose ?

I have a loo seat on the istick, and have no problems with any other atty. So it must be the GS. But until I can properly check the ohms I don't want to fiddle too much with it. At the moment it has the premade coil that came with it. Very strange.

Seems to be fixed for now charliehorse Bobsbeer - only started being a problem when I changed PG/VG ratios so it makes sense to mess with that. Vaping 7.5w with a 1.5ohm coil quite nicely this am

All I can do is pray about your coil Bobsbeer but considering I've only had this original taifun gs for a few months am not happy and it wasn't cheap!!! also it was doing it with the clones as well but not with the davide so I know it's the taifun

The original taifun gs is now fluctuating between 1.9ohm and 2.2ohms

I don't see that as a problem and has been all day
