Dismantling an istick

Probably not, but the 30 W version with stainless steel threads may be.

Off topic but of interest, why is it not recommended to solder direct to the batts is it a heat issue???

Off topic but of interest, why is it not recommended to solder direct to the batts is it a heat issue???

It's my personal opinion as it's very hard to solder to steel on 18xxx batteries you could get them far too hot and tabbed ones are available that seller ecolux has a good range.

Take top and bottom plate off.
Slide out button/screen cover, remove buttons then you can slide the board out by threading the top down through the iStick. You may have to desolder one of the atomiser wires.

Tried it one time posi end was a breeze other than the risk of solder running and shorting the batt.
Neg end was impossible, was convinced it was going to blow up.
Never again.

Your probably right.  I wasn't planning on doing it, as the one I have is working just fine.  I was just interested what was inside, and how easy it would be.  But by the time it needs a new battery, there will be others that are better and probably cheaper on the market.  Thanks for the replies.  I'm sure they will be helpful if and when the time comes.
