Probably too soon for these, but has anyone taken their istick apart? Replaced the battery? Is it even possible? Not that I plan on doing it any time soon as mine seems to be working just fine 1 month on. I noticed a few talking about these things playing up a few months down the line though. At the current prices is it even worth considering major surgery?

DiscoDes has taken one apart and posted photos on here somewhere, the batteries are soldered in so really need to get 18650s with solder tabs I have seen people soldering directly to batteries bit would not recommend it.

I'm kind of considering ripping mine apart as I'm fed up of the crap 510 always shorting itself out even with the bendy adaptor. Found a lovely tin to put it in. Just got to pluck the courage up to do it. Failing that I'll install a fat daddy vapes shorty 510 in the istick if their is room. Need to do some measuring, pokeing , tinkering and bodging.

Ive been super careful threading attis on my smartie but its inevitable the threads are going to go so I had it apart to check. I have a sprung 510 from stealthvape I think it will go in but may need the board removing so as to route the pos wire better. I may just drill the cap out and bond a brass 510 fitting in with milliput or similar for a quick fix if it goes. I wish i could find a supplier for the round 18650 sized lipos for my home builds, the search continues.

Too big & is 2 cells in series, the one Greg got for the VaporShark would probably be a good choice, from HobbyKing IIRC.

There was a link on here somewhere a few months ago, I'm sure Greg will point you in the right direction tomorrow since I tagged him above. If not try Blakey & Windows.

I use them turnigys, nice cheap little batteries at £1.50 a pop. Capacity not to great though, a 2200mah would be nice.
Them air rifle lipos would be worth a punt and splitting up if they were a higher Mah.

Found some Samsung 25Rs with tabs from a trusted supplier these would do the VaporShark or iStick admirably. Edit: not so sure about the room in the VaporShark as the Turnigy ones are 58 mm x 15 mm, not 65 mm x 18 mm.
