Nothing personal to anyone, but in my opinion it is obscene that a good premier league footballer earns in one week what the average working man earns in 8 years, two months to a lifetimes work?

Firstly i am a Sky subscriber mainly for the football. Sky has improved football coverage for years now, yes it's a cost but you only have to look at the poor coverage that the BBC, ITV, ITV4 and Channel Five put out. Glad though that the BBC won the highlights package for Premier League games again, MOTD is an institution loved by many, shame they lost the Football League highlights package. Soccer Saturday is a gem of a show and Jeff Stelling a great presenter. Even the midweek Soccer Specials are great. I also enjoy Sky's Fantasty Football and Sunday Supplement. What annoys me about about Sky is them charging me one amount and the bloke up the road a different amount. I'm on a good deal at the moment But had to go cold turkey for a couple of months before that deal was offered to me. Probably have to do that again this year to get a good deal. Football coverage pre 1992 was pretty dire. Yet as a kid the Big Match with Brian Moore and the Cup Final on a Saturday at 3.00pm with Saint and Greavsie and the pre match build up was great. Yes it costs, but times move on. I don't agree with 300k a week salaries but the coverage for the man in the street is a lot better.

I know this is a football tv thread but what p$$$$$ me off mostly is the Golf dominance on Sky. Sky show the pga and europeans tours and from 2016 will have the british open, bbc will have the highlights. My complaint is, In order to watch a golfing event, a subscriber would have to pay for all the channels because 1st round might be shown on sky 2, 2nd round on 4, 3rd round on 3 and final round on 1. In 2025 sky will do the same with football. first half on 1 second half on 4 and if its a cup game and extra time is needed then sky sports channel 20 will be out by then. only joking but I wish the bbc would of made more of an effort to keep the open golf championship. My licence value sucks.

I know. I'm used to it. I worked for BG Group for 20 odd years and the number of people who thought it was British Gas and used to whinge about their gas bill to me. Now I work for Centrica, who actually are British Gas no one mentions it Always though you were an old gas bag

Lol.
Whether the problem is with professional sport, television costs or just the state of the market in general. Where there is a case to moan, people will moan.

Thanks Tom.
The last time I looked which was many months ago the golf was scattered. I should of checked before I posted, thanks for coming back answering my query. All I need now is Sky to allow BT you view boxes Channels 3 and 4. Don't think it will happen because it took years to sort out 1 and 2.
If would be heaven if Eurosport had the Golf.
p.s. nice Job you have Tom.

My brother also works in the premier league (bottom of it). He has a fancy job title but in the real world hed probably be called a janitor. Last year he had a 3K bonus because they did well. To much money in football go figure.
As an aside I cried for a week when the beeb lost motogp to BT.

I can't justify paying for bt sport on top of what I have, I really miss the premiership rugby and ufc. In an ideal world it would all be a reasonable cost to the customer. £5 a month for all the sport you can ever want. Sadly with prem games costing about £6m each to show - going a dodgy route is sometimes the only feasible way you can watch.
