Hi all,
My new carto's arrived this morning so I have spent this afternoon filling them up with juice....except it has taken me ages?!!! I have e-lites which I am refilling the 'disposable' carto's that came with it using the 'drip around the side' method, mainly because I had no rubber caps to use the 'condom' method with. This meant I could only get around 6 to 10 drops in each one.
Now that my new carto's came with rubber caps I thought I could fill them much quicker and to capacity...but I kid you not - it has taken me the best part of 2 hours to fill 9 of them!!!
I filled the caps with about 20 - 25 drops of juice and then slowly pressed the carto into the cap, threaded sided down. Now I've watched the vids on you-tube and it was really as simple as that, but when I did it the juice came straight through the centre tube. I didn't let it overflow at first, choosing instead to leave it in situ in order to soak up and return a few minutes later to push a little further. On each return their was no change, so in the end I opted to allow the juice to overflow and soak in from the top down, but it took forever for this to happen! ???
Could it be that the carto's I have are just un-absorbent, or that my juice is too thick or a mixture of both...or....I'm just a complete moron and have done it wrong?
Now that I have some filled I can drip fill them as and when I need to, but I still have others I would like to fill and now I'm not sure what way to do it to get the best/quickest results?
Any ideas???

If you've a VG or VG heavy mix Giz . . . it will certainly take longer for the juice to be absorbed into the filler, it's considerably more gloopy than PG.
I've no experience with the carto's which you have, so a stab in the dark answer from me, would be to get a pointed syringe and refill them that way . . .

Wow! Quick on the draw there, thanks Perp.
I thought of a syringe, but as I have quite a few flavours to add I figured it would be time consuming washing/drying it after every fill. As it turns out it would probably have been lots quicker though!

Oh, by the way I think all my juices are a VG/PG mix, and I've just read on a different thread that VG based juice is a lot harder to fill a carto with.

I fill mine with a syringe with a blunt needle. Just poke it down the side of the wadding and fill till it gets soggy, then I do the other side. Let it soak in for a few mins then top up by dripping round the edges.

Nope. I'm pretty certain I am doing it as described in posts/you tube vids. I think it is just a case of the liquid being too thick to be absorbed quickly by the wadding, but I couldn't find any posts on here describing similar problems?

@ Gizmo One thing you could try would be to stand your bottle of juice in a cup of hot water before filling yer carto. Not boiling, bout the temp of nice cuppa , apparently this will make the juice a bit more runny. Not tried it meself, but my juices are 70/30 PG/VG, so are pretty runny anyway. Just as an aside, with the juices I'm using I just straight drip fill, not a fan of the condo method meself, bit too messy for me. Cheers, John
