My trusty ego has finally given up the ghost, I need something with decent battery life and cheap (ish) spare batteries and have been looking at these two. Im an avid festival goer so I need to be able to carry enough batteries to last me 6 days at download fest later this year. Im open to other suggestions too ofc Oh and it needs to be able to withstand a mosh pit or two!

agree with des. or a battery mod so its not too expensive if it gets bust or lost

All the reviews Ive seen for the lavatube are great, my only concern is its construction, can it take a wallop or two?

The LT is quite sturdy, but of course there are a lot of electrics in its innards. If you want something totally bomb proof I would go for a single battery mod - they are virtually unbreakable.
Loads to choose from or look out for one on the classifieds.

agree with Dave ...bomb proof i'd go with a mechanical mod but for price and 'features' the lavatube takes some beating

Recomendations for a mechanical then? It really needs to be bombproof when theres clumpers like me knocking around. something made of inch thick titanium or hewn from granite would probably be favourite.

They are tough little VV mods

I've accidentally dropped my LT loads of times, or it's fallen over and rolled off my desktop and there's not a dent or a scratch on it.
