Disco, thanks for your input, just wish things did what they say on the tin. Is there a small accurate device on the market, purely out of interest. Cheers for now.

OK Perps baby? I get your gist. I will try taking it up 1 watt at a time and see if I can find the sweet spot that way. The coils say their range is 3.3 --6volts. Is that 18.6 watts? Just seems to me that something is wrong when mine are burning at 7.5w Sumint ain't right. Aspire owes me lots of coils!! The sooner I start building my own the better I reckon! Thanks again. Protanks I run at between 4.5-5.5watts, . . . Nautilus between 6.5 -8.5watts ( depending on resistance ) on a iStick becks, this is purely what suits me. I take no notice of what any guides might suggest . . . they don't have my taste buds. If yours are burning at 7.5, it's too high for them . . . don't forget the iStick doesn't have the same regulated wattage as other devices do. So lower is probably better for most things to start from.

OK Perps, thanks for being so patient with me, I'm happy enough with the protank which I use with fruit flavours.I'll put another well soaked coil in the nautilus and try again. I use premium tobacco types in this tank and maybe I'm just expecting too much. My aim is to drop the tobacco flavours a bit down the road. Cheers for now. Now where can I get hold of an ozzyscope? Ha!

I use the Nautilus pretty much all the time, 90% VG juice at around 11W (sometimes a bit higher, sometimes lower) on a Vamo - never a burnt wick and always gallons of vapor and flavour. As mattyjones has already stated, you should be able to run it at 15W so burning wicks (and not getting much flavour) at 7.5w does sound a little odd. Maybe a bad batch of coils? Can you test the coil resistance? Haven't used an istick so can't really comment on them but i do love the nautilus........ and the atlantis too for that matter having just got hold of one at the weekend

I did have a coil do the exact same on me today brand new and soaked it as I always do primed it and started at 7 w as always to let it settle in and immediately burnt the bugger!! so could well be bad coils. also the 30w istick I think is more accurate that the old 20w I may be wrong but I'm finding a difference between the two on the same settings

Hi Goofy, thanks for that, the 1.8 coils read 2 ohms close enough? Don't have a proper checker, just using the one on the istick. I will order some new coils from another vendor and start over.

DiscoDes you should be able to measure these without an oscilloscope they output DC according to Todd (1:50), the 20 W is a different matter it outputs PWM and you do for that.

VapingBadAlthough I only have the cheapo 20W and it is my first VV/VW, I totally agree with what the video says, even the maths stack up with the display! Well pleased with my little iStick, but I don't expect it to last forever. I use mine with protanks and Magmas + own coils at 1 - 1.3 ohms. Jim

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up for me VapingBad I had not seen that video. So they must use a completely different chipset in the 30W then?

Yep DiscoDes it seems like new board and or firmware and they seem to have address the weak points of the 20 W, the only question is will my 20 W last until V3 or V4 are introduced.

This whole thread is one of the reasons my 20W isticks are in the spares drawer. One of them IS 'red' though

Hi Goofy, thanks for that, the 1.8 coils read 2 ohms close enough? Don't have a proper checker, just using the one on the istick. Sounds fine to me My latest coil read 1.7 on the Vamo iirc, now gone down to 1.3 after about a week, vaping like a champ! Strangely, my 50w Hana Modz box mod arrived today and the same coil is reading 1.0ohm on that lol.

two key words strike me on this thread that are very relevant to each other 1. Burning and 2. iStick Re. The Original, 20W One:- Last W/E, I Would've Agreed... ...Mine Arrived Last Saturday (I Finally Got One, £12.50 Was Too Tempting!..) So Took it With Me For a W/E Out in Canterbury. Now I Have to Change Heads A LOT 'cos of the Juice I Use & Dry-Burning/Re-Wicking My Re-Built Kanger Heads Was n't Practical Whilst 'On the Town' (or Sitting in W'Spoons!! ), So I Put a Coupla Packs of 5x 1.8 Ohm Heads (Pukka Kanger Ones Too...)....Burnt ALL of 'em!!! Kept Turning I-Stick Down But Made No Difference. Back at Base (The Van!), I Dry-Burnt & Re-Wicked My Re-Built Ones........Luverly Vape! Had 2.0 Ohm, 1.5 & 1.2 Coils All Taken up to Max. Watts Wiv No Burning. Conclusion? It's Bought Coil Heads That Are the Prob......Put a Bit of Lurve into Re-Building 'em & It's Great!
