Is this why there are ecig bans in certain countries?

This is one of the best things I've watched for a long time, it shows the power of the tobacco industry, how they bully, lie and cheat to try and stop countries from warning about the dangers of smoking. It's 18 minutes long, but it's both amusing and eye opening, I think this is where all the ecig propaganda may originate from. When you have a corporation with more money than a lot of countries combined it brings things into perspective. This does not mention ecigs by the way but it's just so easy to put two and two together. Please take the time to watch, tweet and make your own decisions.

Only some of the anti stuff is Tobacco Company related, in the main they seem more interested
In restrictive regulations. They would be quite content to own the market in cigalikes, and the
Least effective of those. They could claim the harm reduction cudos without impacting on cig sales.

The biggest cloak and dagger act is the pharmaceutical companies, ones that produce NRT. They
Have lobbyists and access to decision makers. They are loosing just as much, if not more financially
As the tobacco companies.

The third group is public health, in the form of tobacco control. They had already written a script for
The "end game" of smoking, in the first world. Ecigs don't fit that game plan. They have already consigned
Snuss, the first genuine harm reduction product for smokers, to the history books. It never even
Reached the shelves in most countries before they stamped it out.
They have been using many of the same arguments against ecigs. This is the group that constitute the biggest
Threat as they have the ears of politicians. These are the ones who have made an industry out of
Quitting and they are fighting to save that industry. The more scared they get, the madder the stories
They propagate, they are on the run.

I remember a documentary 20-25 years ago where they one of the Marlboro Men actors said he was a filming shoot the offered a cigarette to on of the senior Philip Morris execs who refused saying "those are only for the poor, black or stupid". At that time IIRC the USA were threatening trade sanctions on Malaysia for thinking about banning Joe Camel from billboards.
