Coil wraps?

I'd say if you want to dual coil, look at just over 1ohm (to fire on mvp and vamo) Go in at a wider coil so you can fit them both on the deck and you should be able to manage with the .25 wire

I tend to use single coil drippers because I don't have many mods that can fire low ohms, but I have just started dual coiling my orchid v4's at around 0.5 on my clouper mini and its a great experience!

I'm ordering the kanger kbox soon so can go lower ohms then. The vamo booklet says 1.5 ohm minimum. How May wraps on each coil would you reccomend to get a 1.5 ohm dual coil build with 0.25 wire?

I use .25 on singles, 1.6mm dia I get 7/8 wraps as 1.5 ohms.

To dual coil and still get 1.5ohms, each coil will have to have double the wraps so it will be 15/16 wraps to get a 3ohm coil at 1.6mm dia in theory.
If you increased the coil dia to around 2.5mm youll probably do 9/10 wraps to get your target 3ohms per coil.

wraps with 2 numbers the bigger number will be the top row, smaller on the bottom.

Thanks, I'll give that a go tonight. I assumed that more wraps making 3 ohm coils would have made a 6 ohm dual coil setup. Didnt realise how confusing this stuff would be!

I know! I've only just started to fathom the illogicality of 2 coils halves ohms and thicker wire makes lower ohms it goes against everything I expect. Mind you it took me 6 months to get to grips with vaping and batteries

drunkenbum to seem even more confusing. If you made your 2 coils each being 3ohms and fitted to your atty, you will in fact attain a 1.5 ohm set up.

Simply. what ever ohm size of each coil is on dual set up, divide by 2, gives you your actual set up ohms.

i.e. coil 1 =3 ohms, coil 2 = 3 ohms divide by 2 = 1.5 ohms.

To obtain the desired ohm set up each coil must be "Double" that desired set up.

I hope this is of some help, it took me several goes before I got it right.

I'd been recoiling Kanger heads for 6 months & Nautilus heads for 4 months. I only used one size wire 28awg .32 Kanthal. I never went below 1.5 ohms.

Then I got a set of Kuro coilers and some Sega tanks with a rebuildable deck. Decided to get adventurous and got some .37 & .4 wire and found www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?

I was confused by the 8/7 wraps but think it means 7 full and one half wrap. Been doing it like that and getting target ohms.

Living dangerously I've got the 3 Sega decks at 1, 1.1 & 1.2 ohms. Tried the .5ohm coil they came with and it's not for me. Like vaping a volcano. Too hot a vape for me.

I got a wire sample with my wire orders. Nothing to say what gauge it is. It's so thin it could be a strand of metal candy floss. Haven't played with that yet.

Wire's cheap so play about with it. I use the same idea as 'Don't count the cigarettes you smoke. Count those you don't' So 'Don't count the coils that get binned. Count the good ones.'

Doing that I've used over 100 metres of wire but I've got some good coils.

I've only got the .25 at the moment. I bought it to rebuild kanger heads with microcoils from the tutorial on here. Now got the omega dripper and want to build it up. Mainly because I'm itching to have a go at building a coil and I don't have a dead kanger head at the mo.

drunkenbum I went for 28 awg .32 because I was told that was the wire NatureVape used to make their micro coiled Kanger heads. I'd used some of them and found the coils were very robust and stood a lot of rewicking.

I've been recoiling Kanger heads for friends & family since I started coiling. Only had 2 deaduns back. The rest are still being rewicked.

Doesn't work on a mobile device anymore though unless you purchase an app.

You could do two 12 wrap coils on a 2mm bit to get 1.2 ohms... Think a vamo should fire that. What version vamo do you have? Got my wife a v6 and it fires down to 0.7 or something which is handy

I've got the v5 15 watt. Reccomended is 1.5 minimum, will fire down to 1.2 but they don't recommend it

First build done. Went single coil for now just to try it. Did one wrap too many as it came out at 1.8 ohms But it fires nicely. Quite proud of myself

Yes it's all down to experience now. The more you do the better you become and the better the experience, flavour etc. you get.
