Anyone use a VPN?

So i use static and dynamic VPN's for various reasons when i'm on the internet but this forum seems to hate them, or rather Proboards does should i say?  I regularly get a blocked page appear rather than the forum.  Has anyone else that uses a VPN noticed this?

Do you know if Proboards uses blacklists like Spamhaus to stop connections from known ranges of ip addresses?  If they do what lists do they use?

Sorry that you've had it too, *-SARIN-*, but, yes, Proboards have a blacklist to help block spammers, I don't know what lists they actually use though. Several folk on here have had the 'you are banned' page come up all because of the IP they've gone through, tried again & thankfully all was fine, it's just the odd unlucky hit.

At home my broadband has a Dynamic IP. Sometimes I'll get the banned warning. Thankfully I have a proxy server that's accepted every time.

There's nothing can be done about being 'banned' other than reconnecting for a new IP.

A lot of hosting providers use a list that includes huge blocks of Virgin IPs, they're the worst. Can't blame them, it's a lot easier to add a huge block than enter every blocked IP individually.

Is it an error 1006 message that you are getting?

I get it sometimes when I use my VPN, I just change the country and get in that way, it's just a ProBoards screen saying that the IP is banned...

In that case it is a Cloudflare block & there is nothing I can do about it
