FT Kayfun - how to fill

I bought this from fasttech about a month ago

At first I had problems with the machine oil taste but solved that problem,  now I'm having another problem of the tank leaking when I fill or re-fill it.

Can anyone guide me on how to properly fill this thing without it leaking?

I normally use the trick of placing my finger over the air hole,  then lightly screw the top on and turning it quickly upside down to tighten it all and creating the seal,  but this doesn't always work.

This is a great tank that gives great flavour but the leaking is doing my head in and I'm wasting a lot of juice

Please help.

Also, is it leaking only when you have just refilled, or the rest of the time too? If it's all the time, it could be the wicking that's contributing amygx

Good luck ! Mine were a real pain so switched to taifun gt. It doesn't help, but I like to mention it at every opportunity !!!

amygx Firstly take out bottom fill screw: then using a "SYRINGE" slowly push plunger and fill up with juice. Refit bottom screw.

Reason for "SYRINGE". When using plastic squeezy, you cannot refill in one press of bottle, thus when you release bottle, you then on next press push `air` into the Kayfun tank, and pressurise it.
The "SYRINGE" method eliminates any air being put into tank.

Tip: If lots of gurgling when taking a vape, take atty off the mod turn upside down wrap tissue around air hole, and the blow down the drip tip, whilst atty is upside down, this clears all excess juice.

Bottom fill is a definite must with these, other than invading the ukraine the russians seem to know what they are doing.

But if you must fill from the top,
only fill to the top of glass portion, finger over hole.
1/2 turn of cap to locate threads still with finger over the hole,
turn upside down remove finger and very, very, very slowly screw it all the way in.
The faster you screw it the more the juice will be forced out.

That said I only have 1 I can fill like this as the others when I remove the top cap the chimney/sleeve comes out with it.

Just remove the screw underneath, tip the atty at a 45 degree angle & gently fill from a dropper bottle.....You'll find it easier, if you have the filler hole to the top of the atty......Just don't overfill it..............I use Kayfuns practically all the time..........this video should help....watch from 2minutes 40 seconds.......The guy holds the atty with the fill hole to the bottom, whereas I have the hole to the top.........It's individual choice, but I find it easier.......it also shows how to top fill before that.............

very true jeffc............but what I do, is move the dropper away from the hole after squeezing & then fill again, that way, avoiding any air..............

Rather than using a dropper capped bottle, consider using a needle tipped bottle like you'd find www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=30ml+needle+tip+bottle&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=1

You will insert the needle into the fill hole and the gap between the needle and the hole will allow air out as liquid comes in.

I'd strongly recommend this approach over the top fill method (although that's viable but occasionally messy if your finger slips or you screw the top in all the way whilst the atty is pointing skywards.

Incidently, if you're using a 3.1, it has a valve - for that, turn upsidedown, tilt roughly 45 degrees and slowly, with pauses to allow air to escape through the air hole, fill until it's about 4/5ths full (the remaining air is your friend - just as with a Russian 91% / 3.0 or a Kayfun Lite / Lite Plus). The other thing with the 3.1's is that you have to use a tappered plastic dispensing tip (like www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Syringe-Dispensing-Tapered-Nozzle-18-Gauge-Green-20pk-/271195098950?pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item3f247ccf46 )

I'll have to get some needles and try bottom filling because this thing just keeps leaking on me.

Anyone know of any tanks like this one that DON'T leak at all?
