Hi I've purchased a nemesis mech mod first mechanical mod so I've been doing abit of research I think am after a hi drain battery and a 18650 was mentioned by a mate at work

A Samsung 25r, a sony VTC4 or an AWT should be fine for you tooly. The samsung and AWT are rated to 20amps continuous and the sony to 30amps.

would it be better to put a protected batt in a mech ?? Safety and all that.... Protected batteries don't go up to a high enough current output in mech mods in general before the protection kicks in and stops the batteries working. You're better off going for a safe chemistry and high drain.
