Hi I've purchased a nemesis mech mod first mechanical mod so I've been doing abit of research I think am after a hi drain battery and a 18650 was mentioned by a mate at work

A Samsung 25r, a sony VTC4 or an AWT should be fine for you tooly. The samsung and AWT are rated to 20amps continuous and the sony to 30amps.  |

would it be better to put a protected batt in a mech ?? Safety and all that.... Protected batteries don't go up to a high enough current output in mech mods in general before the protection kicks in and stops the batteries working. You're better off going for a safe chemistry and high drain. |
