I'd be happy if Captain Slow (tm) turned up to work 5 mins earlier, and left 5 mins early.

Sadly, in the real world, they faff around doing whatever they do, and conspire to be tootling along at 40 in front of me.

I can drive behind some clueless bint (TM) at 40 for miles, tooting my vape (an ever present saviour) while they wind the way back. I'd rather she learned how to drive, but not going to grow an ulcer over it!

I wonder how much the DD decline is to do with the rather impressively large reduction in traffic cops... and enforcement being handed over to cameras tracking speed and bus lanes... Most cost effective way to reduce all forms of crime is to stop looking for it and careless driving has almost become a thing of the past

This is not to say speeding isn't relevant. Mass times velocity squared is worth remembering when you find that 40 mph car on a rural road that feels safe to do 50mph on given the conditions.
