Quick Reply-Smilies

Is it possible to add smilies to the quick reply? It makes life so much easier at least for me. I find myself constantly typing replies in the QR and then copying and pasting in reply mode to add them..

I dunno if others do this too but is fairly simple to change..

If you click on reply . . . to the right of the last post on a thread Macca, you'll get the smilies above the text box, then all you have to do is hit Post Reply when you've added them . . . it's better/easier than using quick reply.

I've probably not explained that awfully well.

Yes, if you preview your message you can then add the smilies

It was just an idea which would make life easier for me is all. I was just wondering if others had the same issues as me as I am used to having a full quick reply box (ie., including smilies and BB codes) at the bottom so you can reply when referring back to posts on the page by scrolling up on the same page, something you can't do in full reply mode or in preview mode.

It's no big bother..

It annoys me sometimes too Macca, I can remeber many of them so its extra faff going to preview or full reply to include them

I can quite easily add the smilies to the quick reply box & any BB codes etc if folks want me to. It will slow page loads down a tad though. For starters, I'll just add the smilies & see if everyone is happy with them

Macca, on full reply, you should see all the posts on the page below the full reply box.

Yes, true dat but it puts the posts top down..

Scrolling up on the same page feels a lot more natural is all...

Okey dokey, the drop down box hack that you linked to Macca is a very old code. I tried adding that to a friends Proboard that I set up for her & it didn't work with several of the newer versions of browsers. So I've used a newer code that just shows the smilies at the top of the quick reply box & you just click on them in the same way
