when I started vaping I wanted to get rid of anything tobacco I knew if I vaped a tobacco flavoured eliquid I would fail in my quest to give up smoking so my first eliquid was fruit flavour one can't remember whixh flavour, I have never vaped a tobacco eliquid I have stuck mainly with fruits although have tried food and drink and bakery ones and menthol as long as it was accompanied by a fruit.
so what was your first flavour and did you have a reason why? I want to use this vote in my supporting letter to my MP

I went cold turkey for 3 months, but started putting the weight on. Friends were vaping so I had a go with 24mg general tobacco flavour, I got on with it! Now on 8mg Camel flavour, haven't looked back for nearly two and a half years + I enjoy coiling and mixing.

For those that use tobacco flavour does that closely remind you of smoking, do you have the same after taste in mouth as you did with smoking. Just wondering how close it would be to smoke again? I was kind of hoping most would go with a different flavour as the thought is flavoured eliquid will encourage youngsters to start vaping and they are thinking of banning flavours like fruit and food ones but early days yet.

Well.. I started on a tobacco flavour ( some type of lambert and Butler which is what I used to smoke) because I wanted it to feel like I was having a fag...
For a lot of people (at first it seems)they want ecigs to look/feel and taste like cigarettes as I suppose it helps with the transition from smoking to vaping.
No eliquid I have tasted however, ever truly tastes like a cigarette, usually a mix of nuttiness, caramel perhaps and something earthy if that makes sense.

When I started vaping in 2012 there wasn't a huge choice, so I went for Drum flavoured as that was what I smoked, it tasted nothing like it. I knew then that I needed a flavour that was not related to smoking at all, when I started looking at the forums there were lots of people going on about Grants Custard so I gave it a try and I loved it and that's really all I vape on now, well my own mix,i mix 250ml and when its nearly gone I mix some more. I also use Red Astaire when my taste buds are shot.

For those that use tobacco flavour does that closely remind you of smoking It's nothing like smoking! Some tobacco are weird, but I find camila, Virginian and deluxe tobacco a nice round flavour. Have tried others (including fruit and coffee etc) just can't get on with them. Jim

I stayed away from tobaccoes too clairea, for the same reason. My first juice was a relabled Hangsen lemon, followed closely by aniseed from the same source. Then I started mixing my own anise and it took off. The hangsen lemon was actually quite nice

Demon vapes blackjack and demon Vapes true blood. Never tried a tobacco styled vape till a good 4 months after I started vaping purely because most of the ready-mades are vile ( tested a few samples at b&m stores.). The thing with most tobacco liquids excluding the likes of manabush eltorro etc are all basically caramel, nutty, ashy mixes. And honestly taste bugger all like tobacco. We all know how important different flavours are not only getting the right flavour for the person when they first quit stinkies, but as soon as taste buds grow back tastes change dramatically. Its been shown that children are not attracted to vaping by flavours. There are hundreds of brands of tobacco available to smokers each with their own taste, not only branded tobacco but classic mixes like burly,Virginia etc and each of them are different depending how they are processes. Meaning smokers settle on something they like. When I started smoking I must have tried 20 diff brands till I settled on golden v. Even then I often changed to drum, oldholburn , blueberry tobacco etc. As even though taste buds were shot flavour was important. With vaping its more so, not only to keep the dreaded cravings, vapers tounge at bay but everyone is different. Government tobacco flavour No1, mint No1 if its only options available will simply not cut the mustard adults like flavours as well. OK rambling rant over .

Thinking back, my first buy was a debang starter kit, a 650mah battery and a throwaway ce4 and a free juice... going by the lid it was rebranded dekang, Blackberry. It wasn't truly terrible (truly terrible was when I ran out and bought Home & Bargains menthol and blueberry ) I then ordered from joosejuice I plowed through most of his testers, mixing up pg/vg ratios and nicotine strength until I'd worked out what flavours I liked and what mix percentage. He doesnt make the strongest fruits but least I discovered what flavours I like and which I dont p.s I agree on the tobacco front, I generally avoided them. But now I've forgotten what a CIGARETTE tastes like I'm quite happy vaping a tobacco juice now and then it's not a letdown when you cant recall to compare it!

We both started on Menthol, with Spinner v2,s and some horrible carto's, but to be fair they did the job in switching from smoking, to vaping.
Within a few weeks we started slowly moving through different vape gear, and quickly moving to diy liquids.
