Start-up updated, anyone done it?

My laptops have been out of action since Friday 13th (Gremlin day).

Had an e mail to say there has been problems with Start-up Win.7 and there is an update. I am not saying that was what caused my problem which was down to my router, but has anyone updated this?

Who did the e-mail come from ? Sounds very much like a spam invitation to download something nasty to me.
If there was a genuine update available then 'Windows Update' should pick it up itself.

It came from Startup Is Back - [e-mail]

Pleased I came on here first before downloading it, Is it Spam?

At some point you've downloaded the old Win7 startup button for windows 8 Phoenix .. This is just an update to that. If you don't use it mark the mail as spam so it never bothers you again.

Ahh ! I was forgetting you had something like this installed.
Can you check on the programs web site to see if there is an official update ? I had a quick look but couldn't see anything.
I did notice that the contact e-mail is given as [e-mail] rather than the one your e-mail came from.
Might be worth dropping them a quick e-mail to check.

Additional to above reply - gumroad is a payment processing company that individuals use to sell and distribute their files.
Wouldn't have expected an update notification to have come from them.
Definitely e-mail the startisback address and ask first in my opinion

I never updated to old start up button did that on last pic and it went heavens after 6 months luckily Amazon refunded me my money and went to of world in the sales in January and picked up another laptop, which I hardly use much prefer these days to use my iPad, can download and watch films on here without the need to charge it etc.

Maybe now trying to get some money from you. If it's working, I would leave it alone.
