For Flavour in a kanthal build I like the 'Tiger' coil @yavape the 1st pic, it's twisted ribbon and round wire. I now use temperature limiting DNA40 devices and Nickel coils, there's no Nickel ribbon and I find I get the best results now with 2 twisted round wires as in the 3rd pic. It's cotton in the one that's wetted with juice but if irc the dry one is cellulose, not keen on that, I like cotton best Cotton pads are what I use like these good stuff. Getting the right amount takes practice but eventually when you pull it through the coil you can feel when it's right. Edit, beaten to it, must type faster......again

We've all done it @yavape I got my first lot from Japan and it was much more expensive than it is now. 5 squares will last quite a while, at least it should do

it might just be me but a twisted coil 1 ohm seems not to be as harsh as a normal 1 ohm coil i learnt to coil on kanger coils ie protanks and then got a dripper to play with and do i wish idd got the dripper sooner as its soooo much easier to learn to coil on

I'm currently using an .7 ohm 8 wrap twin strand parallel coil from.32 Kanthal on my UD AGA-TD, mainly because it produces a longer coil for the resistance I'm after and the top leg ends up at the right height for the top of the centre post. I've had this build on the atty for a week now and the coil shows no sign of gunking up. An interesting side effect is it makes the mesh wick act like a flue, the vapour shoots out of the top like a car exhaust rather than spluttering from all sides, weird!

Plus, and I have no idea why, but I get far fewer 'unexplained glitches' like changing resistance, dropping out of TC etc with twisted spaced coils on a DNA40 than any normal coil.

I said there a thing of beauty and he laughed and he'd been making coils years they look like yours any tips on looking after a coil like this , keep clean dry burn etc

I know I could buy some twisted kanthal instead and have a go , but I'm sticking to basics and get learning the ohms laws first, I do know a bit about it , well I know the rule with batteries now but have a lot of practising to do with the straight forward coils, just wanted to see the difference a beauty like this would make

This sounds great , because I do find the 0.6 a little harsh bot I will make my next one around 1 ohm to see if there's any difference and try the beauties iv mentioned

It does make sense to extend the life of the ones you've got though. You seem to know about dry burning and that is the normal way to rejuvenate them. I found a couple of interdental brushes to suit the coil size also helped to clean up around the deck and posts. If you let me know the details of the coils you want, dia ohms etc, I could make you up a selection for you to try.
