You could just try the budget vacuum system Andy and hold it upside-down and suck with a drip tip that has a good seal for all your life is worth while unscrewing it.
If one with the screw underneath and air inlet on the side (must be to make sense) block the air inlet while trying to create a vacuum.

If there is a gap, I assume there is if you can see what's causing the jam, Then you may be able to get some card or thin plastic sheet from packaging Slide it under the grub screw to hold it up while you unscrew the atty.

markm- haven't had much time to play around with it TBH, but yes there is a gap. I'm not sure if the grubscrew has dropped or has unwound itself but it is definitely jammed in the air groove. I'm going to attack it with a vengeance tomorrow morning, I'll report back once I've freed it (how's that for optimism!).
