[RANT ON]
I appear to be the victim of a Royal Fail black hole, 20/12/2014 parcel from FT arrived at RM's Heathrow depot - not seen since, one from Focal arrived same place 18/03 - not seen since, a Squonker from York also fell into the hole, to be replaced 14 days later by supplier, and one small packet (2 drip tips) from Sutton a few weeks ago also MIA.
It is now getting beyond a joke, signed for items are just being put through the letterbox if they fit, deliveries maybe 2 or 3 times a week at any time up to 16:00 hours, parcels being dumped in the Collection part of the DO and them saying a card has been left (home occupied 24/7), so I have had to go and collect them. Fob off replies to my complaints along the lines of: we'll get the Delivery Office manager to sort it out. One day last year one of the managers had to come himself to deliver 9 items that had just been lying in the DO with no postie to deliver them, appears I live in an Absorption area which means we do not have a permanent postie, and I'm only 3 miles from the centre of London.
At the moment I have been through CS, Escalated Customer Resolution Team and am in the process of dealing with the Postal Review Panel (have copied this email to my MP because there doesn't seem to be anything further than the PRP).

Wow Bob that is either the worst case of bad luck I've heard of for many a year, or there is one very lucky vaper in the SO enjoying his new toys! I'm sure you've exhausted all avenues and read up endlessly about the procedures, but you must be eligible for some sort of compensation?

I'm sure you've exhausted all avenues and read up endlessly about the procedures, but you must be eligible for some sort of compensation? They haven't even offered me a stamp never mind compo, the problem being I'm the recipient not the sender. I'm still waiting for FT to declare the item as Lost and the Focal one will probably take 60+ days as well, both items have been ordered elsewhere in the meantime and both are en-route at the moment. It all started about June last year, up until then everything was sweet, then they re-organized all the rounds and where I live was classed as an Absorption area, meaning that deliveries were covered by a postie doing overtime, of course once the posties finished their own rounds no one wanted to do the extra - don't blame them and that's when the rot set in, so I started to file complaints about lack of deliveries, stuff being left in the Collection section (no card), wonder if that started the "things go missing" scenario. 2 of the posties that come here are very nice and chat to me, but they complain of the new regime in the Office and how they get sent to areas they don't even know to cover work. Privatisation has a lot to answer for - essential services should never be privatised.

I have the very same problem where I live, spoke to the manager in person and all I got was an apology but no change to service. I get everything delivered to work now, that's the only way I can get hassle free mail

Talk to your neighbours as they will be suffering in the same manner. Make it easy for them to complain. Is there am external ombudsman?

A good few years ago I worked for an airline ground handling company. I worked on the passenger side, but our Cargo handlers used to unload RM Flights, amongst others. After a number of complaints from Britania music club, there was a RM investigation. They found out that one night shift team had sticky fingers, not just CDs but a lot more. They discovered they had setup their own lorry container to store the stuff coming off the Bigger freighters with electronics on board. It was ram full of everything you could think of. When they raided the ringleaders house, they found a large Crystal model of the white house In a nice glass display case. It was destined for US embassy.
The point is, report losses in the post, you only ever see the tip of the iceberg.

First package gone missing recently...
The day it was meant to be here (two days after postage) no postman turned up at all and since then I've still not seen it, had other post arrive since though...
Privatisation...

I had the same problem in December /January 2015. Recorded items left out side the house in the wrong village. 3 seperate complaints re parcels from fasttech, vanilla vapes and virtual vape. Fantastic kudos to Vanilla Vapes and Virtual Vape for just resending and a manager tracked down the missing fasttech mod in the PO even though RM had said my parcel could not be delievered to our village PO.
It has really put me off ordering anything I don't NEED icon_shoppingm

Makes me realise just how lucky we are down here in Cornwall - next-day means 2 days at least, but my postman Tony is a gem; how he ever gets around his route is beyond me as he will quite happily stop for a 5 minute chat about anything and everything, but he always hides parcels for us when we are at work, and is quite inventive (and all against the regs, of course!). We always know when Tony is on holiday (he is a keen fossil collector and goes to the Jurassic Coast for all his hols! - see, told you I knew everything about him ) because our post turns up before 12.00 midday, not about 15.30!

I live in as mall rural town we get our post anytime between 7 am and 17.00 if the postman is well, if our regular postman is ill, no postie comes up our way, he only delivers every other weekend, our local pick up mail sorting office is only open between 7 am and 10.00 am, parcels and post often go missing, nothing is ever delivered on time, even special next day delivery was a week late, I don't think they can be bothered anymore,

Got to say we have had a few different posties over the years and only one was a useless so and so, and he didn't last long. All the other ones have been great. I usually get my stuff posted to work though, as the security guys are great, always on site at the gatehouse and only too happy to sign for stuff and make sure it gets to the right person.

Talk to your neighbours as they will be suffering in the same manner. Make it easy for them to complain. Is there am external ombudsman? Think I'm the only one in this block that gets parcels, and no there isn't an ombudsman - only their internal complaints procedure, although after 6 months today I finally got a call from the DO manager, so it looks like escalating it to the PRP has done the trick - he was not happy at all about what is going on with my mail especially things getting left in teh collection point and Signed for stuff not being signed for, he's going to get back to me tomorrow after more digging.

Those last 2 are interesting, but we'll see how it goes at the moment.
