Sounds like a loose connection on the charging board, contact the vendor for a replacement. I very rarely use the charging points on mine or any other mod, i use an external wall charger.

I remember reading somewhere that charging from a laptop,PC was not recommended. I might have got my wires metaphorically crossed so to speak lol so I'll tag VapingBad as he's smarter with batteries than moi.

all good taken back and replaced (they seemed to think it was because the in built charger wasnt up to the job and should use a mains external charger)...shall keep trying to charge as intended and see if it fails again . cheers all russ

There shouldn't be a problem charging from any reasonable quality USB supply, the ones on computers are attached to the mains earth and I think that worried one or two manufactures that if you could get a voltage spike that damaged it (unlikely IMO as the charging chips are bought in and have to handle this). Micro USB connectors get dirty very easily and some IPA and a gentle wiggle can help. Also the (surface mount) Micro USB sockets are only held to the circuit board by solder and if the socket is too tight, not lined up well or the soldering is not good they come away from the circuit board too easily as Get Off My Cloud alluded to above.

All depends on charger, between 2 and 5 hours. I would not charge from a laptop and also would not charge over night

"If you need to leave the room where you're charging for more than a few minutes it is safer to turn the mains to the charger off and disconnect the battery, you can resume charging when you get back and it won't shorten the life of your battery. If you are unwilling to do this then consider a LiPo Safe or LiPo Guard charging pouch that will provide some protection in the event the battery vents, flames or explodes and charge in a room with a smoke alarm" Quote from VapingBad guide.

I charge mine with a blackberry mains charger and the device also supports passthrough so vape as you charge.

yip that will be fine (the device can take a charge from a 1/2amp charger -the blackberry is 0.75 so will take a bit longer but fine to use).
