Anyone that has ever smoked indoors will remember washing nicotine off painted walls, cleaning it off framed pictures, TV screens, mirrors etc, washing curtains and nets and getting muddy brown water. E cigs contain nicotine, so will it still happen? As my OH smokes indoors I'm still washing it off everything anyway, so don't have a clue.

Anne, I have been vaping for over two years and I haven't seen any of that yet. I have found vapor to be much cleaner than cigarette smoke was.
Of course though, I'm a guy and I live in a cave. LOL

I blitzed everything a while back Anne . . . if it wasn't nailed down, it got washed or decorated . . . even though I used to stand at the back door or go outside for a ciggie, the smoke still wafted in I think. Happily haven't had to repeat that process.

It is the TAR and burnt sugars from the tobacco that causes the staining not the nicotine.
A simple test that you can do is blow exhaled vape through a tissue. Now get someone that still smokes to do the same, you will notice a BIG diffrence.

Hmm, never considered the tar. I used to smoke rollies and got stained fingers which didn't look too good in my job, so I bought a holder! So it wasn't the nicotine that caused the staining then?

Since I quite smoking, peope that have come round have mentioned that the place no longer stinks of fags etc, or have that stale smoke smell, so it must be something in the tobacco smoke..(I think)

I don't think it's the nicotine Anne, I'd agree that it's the smoke/tar. Think about when you have a bonfire, the smoke looks white but when you hold something over it it turns black. Smoke damaged I think is the phrase.

Hubby hated the smell of my cigarettes, it did make him cough if he came in my room, ( but he never tried to spot me bless him and in case anyone wonders in separate rooms now due to me waking him up to often when pain was bad and he needs his sleep as he has to go to work) but since stopping he says he is enjoying the cleanest of the air and in fact since been vaping the Vanilla Tabac is sniffing away as he loves the smell.

It is just more propaganda spread by the idiots about the evil nicotine.. coffee however stains like a right wotsit, I am not convinced by all this talk of caffeine stains either though

If you get a white tissue, take a drag and blow it on the tissue you get no staining, unlike doing it with a nasty it stains brown. I know they say nicotine stains, i personally think its tar!

Much like Perpy I painted all the ceilings and walls when I quit just over a year ago and used a box full of wipes on everything and to date no stains have returned just pesky dust. >
