Hi folks I decided to get a vv/vw mod that will take the usual 18650 batteries. Ordered 4 Samsung 25Rs and a Nitecore charger as advised by others on the forum - delivered and on my desk somewhere under the mess. I also ordered the Authentic Pioneer4You iPV Mini 5-30W from Fast Tech which was a reasonable $49 - the sort of price I was looking at for my first foray into this arena. However, after 6 weeks waiting Fast Tech returned my money stating that these mods have been discontinued and my order cancelled!!!
So got batteries, charger but no mod! Have you got any recommendations of a vv/vw or vw box mod in this sort of price range? Apart from
Clouper mini's seem to start fires - or has this changed recently. Smowell DPV-50's seem to have screwing problems (fnar fnar). KangerTech KBOX 8 - limited variable wattages
Cheers folks

There have been no problems recently with the Clouper minis. They all seem fine now and they are a great little 30w mod DrMark

I'm also inclined to recommend the likes of an IPV mini V2 or Sigelei 50W (just because the dial goes to eleven it doesn't mean you have to turn it all the way) but I'd propose that for the sake of, err, around £15 you could go to the UK and have a little red Royal Mail card in your letterbox on Monday. Or perhaps (not sure of reviews) an HB Mini for £40 inc shipping from vapegeek (for instance) which has the 30W cap. Alternatively, if you can cope with the (declared with honesty and explaination) uncertain lead time, there's the Mini VF KX-50D Temperature Protection 50w VW MOD by Kangxin over at Focalecig for around £40 inc epacket shipping... I've high hopes for that. Don't forget discount codes where applicable.

No Mark, the Cloupor doesn't start fires. It explodes. I read it here.

I have 2 Cloupor Minis DrMark and admittedly I was a bit nervous at first but they perform flawlessly if you can live with the 0.8 sec delay when the screen has gone blank, good compact design feel good in the hand (my isticks are pretty much redundant now), though I couldn't resist the 'shark' clone that Get Off My Cloud recommended I'm hoping that will turn up in a week or two

Only the very early ones...
My one is the best mod I have, it is totally reliable, small, magnetic cover and a lot better built than an istick
+1 Cloupor mini

Must admit with mine I did remove most of the hot glue to try to prevent overheating cos it is compact in there
