In the vid, the guy leaves longish ends on his wick. I'm thinking you could use two bits of wick from a CE2, overlapped in the middle, where the coil gets wound.

There are many sorts of wire. How do I specify the wire that's needed for the coil? What it's made of, or resistance per metre or whatever.

Thanks. The guy in the vid used 0.2mm I think (32 awg), but I still don't know what it's made of - stainless steel perhaps? Sorry if I'm being dim.

Forgot to add..
AWG is thinner than SWG so 32 AWG =36 SWG..
SWG is used in Uk and AWG is US.

That thought was lurking in the backof my mind when I decided to 'try' the CE2s. I'd heard a lot of bad things about them, but apart from the faff of filling them, they're pretty good.

Remember to oxidize your wire..He does not show that in the vid.. why would you want to oxidise the wire ? From what I understand, running a flame over the coil wire to make it red hot it forms a layer of tough oxide over the element/coil which is conductive and prevents any corrosive juices from eating into it and gives it a longer life.. It also gets rid of any wire drawing residue from the manufacturing process like oil used in the dies and the coolant water it gets dipped in..

Just dry burn the coil before you use it to oxidise it, simple.
