zna lite battery options?

with the original zna they state you should only use 18490 button top aw imrs, does anyone know if you can use diffrent button top 490's in it?

The difference between the AW18490 and an 18500 is 1mm. Would a flat top make contact with the positive connection?? If yes then any 18500 should do ya.

Why are manufacturers speccing AWs? Provari is another one. AWs are carp at higher watts due to their ridiculously high IR

Even the new ones are high

they are prob recommending them to stop you using trustfire ect or torch batts

with how the postive connection on the zna is i think it only takes button tops, i think it was designed that way to stop people putting battetys in the wrong way a frying the dna board

I don't understand why you're limiting yourself to the 18490s geordie_vaper. The 18500s will fit and you have a lot better (and probably cheaper) choice.

I know they are button top only for reverse battery protection and 2 years ago there was less choice in 18490-500 as would guess they are just covering themselves (need >= 12 A IMR IIRC).

The ZNA is designed exclusively for use with AW Nipple Top IMR BATTERIES. Other batteries may not fit.

But, like I said they probably wrote that 2 years ago amd ther is more choice now, it's a shame Norbert/Ecolux is away as there is a good change he stocks and alternative.

i will find out just didnt fancie spemding 40 quid on batteries, when i coukd get some that will be just as good if not better for half the price but iif i have to least i know cloud9 are flogging them on the cheap

I'd speculate that you can also use Efest pipped topped batteries in it geordie_vaper, much like the original Provari's . . . . whilst not ' recommended ', they do work ok.

they need to be 18490 or the battery cap wont scew up flush leaving a ugly gap but a local b&m is letting me try a few when i get the mod
