One for all you mix-maestros out there.
Since making my own juices, (mostly 70VG - 30PG), I've noticed that I get a drier mouth than when using vendor bought juices.
Is this down to anything in particular?
Quality of diluents? Should I be adding water? Is there a vendor most of you use for your pg/vg/nic that is recognised as being the best?
I'm hoping there are some tips you may have for me with this as I'm really enjoying the mixing and I love the flavours I'm making...........just struggling a bit with the dry mouth issue..

Drink more water, both pg and vg are humectants that attract water so they will dry you out, IMO I don't anything you add to a mix will stop drying your mouth out, just drink more. I make myself up a litre of squash Ribera is my current favourite and I make urge I drink that during the day along with my normal coffee, teas, and squash I would regularly drink,

Thanks claireaBut my question specifically was related to the fact I'm getting a drier mouth with diy juices and wondered if it was the base diluents doing it. I always drink lots when vaping.......but it is a significant difference with the juices I've made vs vendors premade juices.

What flavour concentrates are you useing? What juices don't dry you out so to speak? All juice that you have tried or just from 1 vendor are you comparing to?

I haven't found that myself kreed. Do you think you could be vaping more with your DIY mixes maybe? What PG/VG ratio were you vaping with premixed juices? I don't add any PG to my mixes, so the only PG is in my flavourings. I use a variety of different vendors for my Nic base and tend to get this VG and water it down slightly with some vodka, which seems to lift the flavours slightly as well.

I don't think I'm vaping more. It was/is always in my hand or close by. This is the stuff I bought to mix with: stores.ebay.co.uk/minerals-water?_dmd=1&_nkw=pgEdited to add: I usually mix at 70VG - 80VG........so I'm definitely not overdoing the PG. I'm not adding water/vodka though

That's absolutely fine laireyIf there isn't a "common knowledge" answer then at least I know I'm not doing it wrong....... if you follow that thinking. I will have to try a few drops of vodka in a liquid to see what that does.

You could try a different source for the diluents. I've seen a buyer complaining about the 'taste' of the vape he was getting. As soon as just one vaper complains of the taste then I automatically avoid.
I get mine from ClassiKool on Amazon, Boots for VG in a rush.

I normally just slosh enough in the top of the litre bottle to thin it down a bit kreed ( Perpetua's school of mixing precision) but at a guess, I'd say around 5% vodka in the VG, maybe?
