Are there some juices that you find will burn at a certain amount of ohms no matter what? Ran a little tester, for weeks I was having problems with my PS Happy Ending burning in the kayfun at 1.5ish ohm at about 9-10w on the istick (bear in mind it is a coil gunker!) and thought it was my wicking skills as this is back in the early days. Rebuilt to 1.8-2 ohms, same watts and the coil lasts about 2-3 days before being gunked and 4 days max until it needs cleaning.
Recently I have been busy so ordered some coils off ebay at 1.5ohms, popped it in the tank'o'fun and within half a tank I started getting occasional dry borderlining burnt hits (although not cotton burnt!), went on like this for 2 days until I rewicked and same thing again. Same tank, same wicking, same watts just different ohms. Turning it down gives the same results!
Have you had similar experiences?

probably has to do with the quality of the ready made coils...

maybe due to surface area ? The higher ohm coil, assuming same gauge of wire, will have more wraps and so more surface area to gunk up taking longer ?

Could well be charliehorse I'm just thinking it doesn't like fast heating. The coils are the same wire I use, same diameter just different ohms. Trust me to like a sensitive juice lol

Is this with the 20Watt istick Mrsmac? The 20 watter is renowned for it's poor sensing, giving bad results with any coils below about 1.8ohms no matter how low you set it. The symptoms seem to fit?

That is very true again hadnt thought of that, on my earlier attempts it was with the 20w but this last one was on the 50w where the watts feel a lot different, will play with it some more but worked on the plus 2 principle!

I've noticed that extracts tend to burn more than n.i. juices, they gunk the coils up quicker too

Totally agree, I've stopped using my 20 watter due to this reason, and only have it as a backup in my van and I use it I have it set on 5 watts which as you know is the minimum.

On this subject I would say, well I am saying lol is the isticks whilst great value may well not be the most reliable and consistent of devices, so a more expensive and quality device is recommended in ones stable for comparative results.

Very true! I haven't bothered rewicking today. I think it gunks so fast because it is sweet as well as high in pg...still a yummy vape though and tomorrow I go back to a higher ohm
