I shredded their response to my MSP complaining to them about banning e-cigs on their premises. I couldnt bear to look at the reply (not the best admin skills either - someone can't work the photocopier LOL) before I got it scanned However this is the email I just sent my MSP Well that was a nice response from NHS grampian though I can answer every argument they had said. Yes there’s always been fires from misuse of e-cigs, but equally the same could be said of iphones and laptops. The oxygen tank explosion was a complete myth! Nothing to ignite the oxygen with. No flame! As for saying they are poorly made - would like them to broach them with provapes who make the provari (it’s about a £200 e-cig not including atomiser and batteries) of which I own one! Made in the USA
I have to say whilst i am saddened I am not surprised, as for their ‘far reaching tobacco policy’ - there is nothing on the signs outside the psych hospital to say vaping is banned on the premises, tobacco and smoking is, (and they say that), vaping has no tobacco and no smoke.
With all this in mind I’d like not to pursue the matter as it’ll only cause more unnecessary distress and there’s bigger fish to fry (like the tobacco products directive from the EU)
Thank you for all your help on this matterWith a change of consultant looming I can't afford to cause too much trouble (it will affect me clinically ) but they did say it was more a 'health and safety matter' than 'tobacco control' due to the fires from 'poorly made equipment' Anything will do for the antis - even false stuff as we know whatever they said about BT and ethics it's a load of tosh as really it's all about the money

Well put and worded. I spend a lot of time in hospitals and DRs but what really grips my poop is when the STAFF can get allowed to smoke or vape outside, why can't the patients do the same !. I did however get away with vaping on the ward by using clear steam ejuice, you can pull that hard on your tank almost until your pants disappear up yer bum and the vapour production is almost nothing, and it disappears almost as fast as flys fart.

also have a look at this www.quit4life.nhs.uk/how-we-can-help/e-cigarettes/we had an elderly patient on 60% oxygen on a ward. under the sheets she got an e cig out of her bag and lifted her mask onto her forehead. she then got a real lighter out of her bag and lit the e cig and bang. e cig blamed for explosion. what hope do we have.
