Viglink giving me grief.

Viglink is stopping me from viewing any of the links on here to Chinese sites. Could jess  ,Perpetua , Chrissie or Karma have a look at this please. Is anyone else experiencing this. Every time I come online I have to disable viglink or a lot of the links don't work. I had problems last year with this but can't remember how I got it fixed

sydsut I'm only guessing here, but it sounds like an add on in your browser is causing the problem. Which browser are you using?

IE 11 but I'll have a look at the add-ons. Thanks for the suggestion Chrissie .

Forgive my ignorance sydsut, but what benefit is there to having this Viglink in the first place?


Does the same happen if you use Firefox . . . . .

sydsut try InPrivate browsing mode -

If you no longer have the problem while in that mode, it does mean it's an add on causing the issue.

None whatsoever it's got something to do with sharesale, but it's Proboards that use it, not something I've added.

True enough they do . . . . strange that it doesn't generate any problems using Firefox though.

It shouldn't cause problems no matter what browser.

sydsut have you given InPrivate browsing a go yet?

sydsut go to the bottom of the page and click on 'FTC Disclosure'. Follow the link to 'Opt Out' and disable it. Simples {emulated Russian accent}

I've had to disable viglink every time I come online Ripshod but I've managed to sort it all out. I had disabled Adblock plus for this site, but now re-enabled and I can get directly to fasttech etc. from links in the pages. The enable or disable Viglink function in FTC disclosure now is blank.

It's weird but I've also noticed a lot of the Chinese links going through 'Sharesale'. I thought that was what was causing it. Maybe Chrissie could look into whether one interferes with the other on proboards?

Sorry sydsut but I have to point out that it is against Proboards TOS to use any ad bloker while viewing the forum.

The sharesales is via Proboards, so sadly there is nothing I can do about that
