All the spinny coilmaster/kuro/revolver tools etc are much the same, great for touching coils, one of those stepped coiling rods are good for making spaced coils of various diameters.

not particularly impressed with the quality. rusty bits and quite rough finish to the aluminium casting..

Only fair to mention the rough casting on the ally turned out to be some crud which fell of when used..
excess polishing material??  

the winding posts are very roughly finished tho and there is what seems to be red rust marks on the 3mm post.

had a go with em last night - made a total pigs ear out of it..  need to practice, and need thicker wire..

I got the kuro coiler, the jig and the one droog posted..... Still use my screwdrivers...!

Never used a screwdriver. Bought a Kuro and used it once or twice and went back to the coil buddy.

Same here, tried many different coilers. Always end up back with the buddy.

Must admit I use screwdrivers,drills or my jewelers coil former for 99% of coils.
Do like the looks of the coil buddy though.

I've got the three pack of the kuro coiler, superb for microcoils, I always add one extra wrap and then unwind the first wrap, also got a mandrel which I use for the occasional loose coil. The secret with the kuro is not to place any inward pressure whatsoever on the twisty cap.

You're right prr there is a knack. I tend to use spaced coils now and find the coil buddy and a selection of drill bits more adaptable, plus it's easier to wind a coil under tension with it.

@scooby I know where you are coming from, on the few occasions that I want an open coil I use the stepped mandrel and push the wraps together, they spring apart a bit and still end up very neat and even.
