While a concern as I have one, is there a rechargeable battery system that hasn't caught fire at some point? Phone, rc car, real car, vape mod etc, they all have the potential for this.

From reading some of the posts it seems there is some tit for tat drama going on amongst Reddit users between Smok fanboys and Eleaf fanboys with each side making claims about the other sides products. It would be somewhat amusing if were not for the fact they've started saying this mod catches fire and that mod catches fire which in the end will just paint all these type of devices as inherently dangerous in the eyes of the public and gives ammo to those who want to legislate against vaping. If they must play Apple v Microsoft with vaping products they should really just stick to saying whichever device they don't like is rubbish rather than a ticking firebomb.

Yeah I read the whole thread and there seems to be a lot of doubt on the stories authenticity. Could be bullshit who knows. Might be time for me to invest in a charging bag non the less. *he says with an M80 plus in his hand*

I have been considering getting one of them lipo charging bags for a while, might be a good push to get one however any electronic device battery or mains powered has the potential to cause a fire, point in case the recent beko fridge recall.

I take these sorts of stories with a pinch of salt to some extent. I have no reason to think the fire wasn't caused by a Smok M80. Probably was. There were the stories about the Clouper Mini. Again no doubt all true. I work on the principal that in factories churning these things out at breakneck speed there will be be the odd one or two that are faulty of any make. I don't know how many thousand M80's there are out there, but if there was a specific problem, we would have heard about it. At the end of the day we are dealing with a powerful rechargeable battery. And we all know, or should know to treat these things with respect. They do have the potential to go wrong in a big way. Tell Boeing. They had to ground hundreds of Dreamliners for the same reason.

There's still no proof an M80 was even in the room.
So I think it's irresponsible to blame an M80. Either we get proof or there's gonna be a mahoosive lawsuit!
