seems quicker than i remember it 20 minutes waiting for it to fill up then half an hour trying to smother Savlon all over your hands as you'd nearly suffered third degree burns whilst trying to chuck things into the spinner from the whooshy side which obviously heated the water past boiling point completely destroying physics and couldn't find those crazy wooden tong things.

I remember mum setting aside a whole day for washing and I grumble when my washing basket is overflowing!

Yep Monday was wash day but no twin tub not even a mangle, although I remember when I was older and we had one and feeding the washing (and other things when mum wasn't watching) through the mangle great fun. No, the dolly tub came out on Monday and the washing was bashed with a posser, I still have it. Also remember the dolly blue, mainly as I seemed to get stung by wasps that summer and having a wet dolly blue bag dabbed on the stings was mums remedy.
