I remember someone complaining on here recently about not liking the heat generated by their subtank (but I cant find the thread) I have solved the problem in a stroke, just replaced the driptip with a slightly longer one, here , the vape is just as good but no longer burns my lips

Two things will ease the heat of the vape:
1) Increasing the airflow to it's max setting. 2) Taking faster stronger hits, long slow hits will delivery a hotter vape.
If it's the drip tip that is getting hot then move to a PTFE one.

You could also build the coils with thicker wire to reduce the heat flux. And as a coincidence, the Mrs just did the same thing with drip tip last night, replacing her mini one with one of my brass nemmy tips.
