Hi all.
I have heard that mesh is old hat nowadays with bacon cotton etc but can anyone tell me why? I just wicked a Kayfun 3.1 with SS mesh and it wicks brilliantly with fantastic taste, perhaps better than the same set up with organic cotton.

I'm still happy using gg penelopes with nr-r-nr builds and spheroids regularly, plus I like the odd carto tank so there's room for all styles of vaping still whatever works best for you! <<is good>>

That does sound interesting. Must involve a very fine mesh I would imagine. I like mesh but I mostly only use it in a genesis type SMOK RSST atty. Never occurred to me to try and get a mesh wick into my kayfun.

I saw someone do it on YouTube and thought, looks easy which it was. The only thing you need to ensure is that the inner diameter is big enough for your mesh (3mm) and all was fine. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

Did find a german?fella do it on utoob, he rolled a killer wick which was neat and will come in handy for other builds. Cut a long story short, got the wick through my already used 2mm x 1ohm coil that came out at .8 with the mesh. When assembled it shorted on the deck so I made the mistake of cutting the ends of the wick off to short so was getting dry hits. I should have re torched the ends rather than cut em off. Back on cotton but will have another go when Ive emptied the spare Kfun, would love to get geni flavour from the Kfun.

I've used mesh on a Squape 'S' deck but it didn't replicate the flavour from SS rope and mesh on a kraken.
I did once see a mesh and cotton wick on a Kayfun. The cotton was just plugs in either end of the mesh, not all the way through, and just wicked the juice from the channels to the mesh. Rip did a mesh wick for a Protank
I vape baccy and SS and mesh seem to work well with it but I've heard some other juices don't suit mesh.

Ive had a strange experience with mesh love hate love you could say...been vaping muji cotton for around a year on everything cant fault it...however I just got my 3rd genny an IN'AX 22 started off rubbish but I got some 400mesh and some .4 kanthal and this thing is awesome!!! literally been chain vaping for about 10hours not one dry hit full flavour and vapour. Can't wait to try some homemade nets on it as mesh seems to shine with tobacco..

Mesh is excellent for flavour. Genesis Atomisers are making a comeback because of the flavour they produce.

Can't see the point

Mesh is excellent for flavour. Genesis Atomisers are making a comeback because of the flavour they produce. It never left this building! Also it last ages, months and a lot of them. Suits some flavours more than others, excellent for tobaccos you will have to ask other about other flavours as I have been given conflicting reports.

Interesting thread; thanks to all. I have only used mesh in a genny and a Lux dripper. I may now try some mesh/cotton 'hybrid' wick in my Kayfun.

I always get great advice and feedback so thank you for the comments. I think I prefer cotton but there is a clean taste with mesh.
