You may get "it" back using twisted Roscopecotrain, and fatter coils are shorter I like 3 mm wick in Kayfuns.

Haha i nearly did a 3mm coil as well vapingbad.

So shorter coils means quicker ramp up time?

I have some twisted here so maybe tommorrows project.

No, I like the shorter fatter coils on there as there is more of the wire above the air hole Roscopecotrain

Roscopecotrain try 3mm twisted coils in the SquapeR 6-9 wraps depending on the gauge.



If you haven't already got one a 'B' deck is worth trying, it wicks much better and is superior to the other decks imo.



I vape at fairly low temps 195c -205c sometimes 210c and between 15w and 25w but use 80pg/20vg and get a good throat hit.

I feel I got used to a 'burnt', hot taste with kanthal and maybe that's why some say nickel seems smoother. There's an element of starting again and a need to experiment to get the vape you like.

DIY glen, very easy and best to wipe the wire down first with acetone or if you don't have that IPA OIYDHT meths.

I put a tent peg in a cordless drill, allen key or hook will do, then attch the ends of the wire to something fixed you can just twist them tightly like a bib bag tie, I do it on some wire shelving, anything will do, started by clamping in a vice but that is ovekill. Then hook the middle of the wire in the hook on the driil, pull tought and run the drill until you are happy.  Release the pressure as some wires want to knik, if it does pu the drill in reverse and release some of the tension, this is more of a prob with kanthal than nickel.  I do about 1.6 m at a time like this and wind it around an aerosol cap to get a neet coil for storing.

But you can twist by hand or use a weight, IIRC chykensa ties his to a saucpand handle and spins the pan.

Yep for nickel it diy I'm afraid glen Roscopecotrain has a selection to try and although I'm not contemplating going into business next time I make some I'll keep you in mind.

Twisting is very easy to do, a drill, hand or power is handy but not essential.

As VapingBad said I use IPA to clean then with round wire just anchor a pair at one end, put the other in a drill apply slight tension and turn the drill. maintain a constant tension to the end. when you're done reverse a little or it'll twist on it's self and you'll end up with loops/knots.

I use a loupe to check the twist pitch, mainly for consistency as it effects the length required plus there's a box to enter it in steam Engine.
