Istick 20 watt fix - THEY DONT WORK !

These don't fit.

Here's a long term fix for all those 20watt iSticks you may have tucked away after the 510 failing and shorting out.





They come in lots of different colours and materials starting at around £5 each which is enough to pay given the cost of the mod.

Note youll also also need to purchase a Fat Daddy 15.5mm 510 connector but the end result should transform the mod to a long lasting reliable unit.

Please note shipping is around £7 so it's now getting quite expensive especially if you only need one, I've ordered 3 which are due to ship this Thursday so maybe they will arrive for the weekend 

Once I've fitted them I'll report back if they fit or not.

just asking as my mum has one and she is good at killing mods

Get in touch with the designer Greg If they don't work and you can prove it to shapeways they will credit you and remove the product from the site.

Designer first to ask why it dont fit and if you dont get anywhere shapeways. So long as you can send them pics of the problem they will credit you. Done it a couple of times now on stuff that dont work.
Remember that fuggly silver mod i built a while back that would not close correctly. They took it off the site and gave me my money back.

So no response from designer after 24 hours, he was very prompt to respond when I was purchasing !
Shapeways have advised they will refund after Ive contacted designer so I'll give him another 24 hours then chase SW again.

If the refund goes as smoothly as they are suggesting then I'll be well impressed.

The item has already been removed from the shapeways site.

Tis a shame but at least I'm not out of pocket.
Shapeways have now confirmed they have refunded all costs in the form of store credit to me.

Cant fault their consumer service 

Now to ponder what to spend the credit on

Yep, seems they are quite ruthless too. I'd like to think they've had a discussion with the designer first given they never even requested any photos from me to confirm what I'm saying.

Seems a bit harsh to take it off their site on the back of one complaint but then again maybe that's their policy.

It's a shame really, the Shapeways designers are innovating some great stuff. As you know my DNA40/Hammond build was a bit hampered when it turned out the supplied buttons didn't fit in the sled holes; resolved by a bit of filing. The guys though should really QA finished products before putting them on the open market. If it says BETA (which mine did) don't touch it!
