Thought I was quite an experienced vaper, albeit out of date with the latest developments. Just spent a pleasant hour putting dual coils on an old trident RDA I had kicking around. Came out at .6hm and have been trying direct to lung inhaling with a very old low nic juice. What a revelation, the juice must be 2 years old & very dark, but tastes fab at 30 watts.
In the past I made all juices at 22mg or thereabouts, but found myself having a cigarette, even immedialtely after vaping, just wasn't getting satisfied. I even made up some 44mg juice, which I still have somewhere, to try and satisfy the lack of nicotine. This direct inhaling seems to make all the difference for me, not sure why I'm not coughing as much as I used to, maybe simply the lighter nic ratio. Wish I had persevered a bit more first time around.
So I now have a boxfull of random flavours, all at 20mg or so, and most over two years old. Very tempted to bin the lot and start again. May have a play with diluting a few first & see how we go.
So with enthusiasm restored off to trawl all the new goodies out there. Having "retired" to Portugal earlier this year it's not quite as easy to get stuff from China over here, and there isn't much choice in the Algarve.
Many thanks to all the contributors - really really useful stuff.

Why is that? do the Portuguese Postal service charge you import duty or what?, as Chinese companies will post anywhere I think.

I ordered a BBQ controller from China in early April. Beginning of June I had a registered letter from the post office asking for the receipt, my tax number and proof of purchase that detailed the item. All this to ensure that I will be taxed appropriately and that the supplier wasn't declaring a lower price. I sent them copies of all that on the same day, and they replied saying that the details had been sent to the customs. I know from the trackng number that it landed n Portugal in early May. It has been stuck in customs ever since. I have no idea when I'll receive it, could be months yet, and almost certailny will have to pay VAT & import duty, all on a $30.00 bit of kit.
I think for vaping gear I will get it sent to the UK, then one of my family members can send it on to me here.

reefcat - it might be worth making a small order to Fasttech or one of the other Chinese suppliers, and see what happens when it reaches Portugal. These companies never disclose the real sum paid, and always mark the packet as 'gift' or 'small component'. Might slip the net if that's the case, perhaps British HMRC are just too slack about this sort of thing? For information, I have recently started sub-ohming and have a couple of MVP3s, one which fires to 30w, the other, a Pro, to 60w. I haven't used either of them above 25w and this is ample for me at the moment using dual coil Goblins and Orchids, and the good ol' iSubs from Innokin. I am also now mixing all my juice at 6mg not 10, and have increased the amount of VG as much as the concentrates (which are carried in PG) allow. Hope this helps, and a great thread which has taught me new stuff along the way

Thanks for the thought chykensa, I've been looking around some of the Chinese sites today with exactly that in mind. I managed to find some T juice concentrates in my box of bits, along with some made up juice at 22mg. So I did the calculations and hopefully have managed to add flavour and VG to bring the nic down to about 8mg. Am now vaping that in the subtank mini. So far so good, all the juice is at least two years old, but still usable. Inclined to bin all the other random mixes & start again, so all I have for the moment is vamp vapes & jack the ripple. Have a huge shopping list for a trip to the vape shop in Albufeira on friday. Another Istick & subtank, some VG, a pile of flavours and a decent RDA if they have one. The choice is likely to be very limited 4-vapor.com/?product_cat=rda Still have a stock of kanthal, but looking at some of the modern builds will be needing some .42 as well. Will also order a cheap RDA from China, haven't decided which one yet but will be trawling the reviews on here for some inspiration. The amount of vapour I am getting from the subtank is awesome, so much better that anything I have tried before. Can't wait to try sub ohms in a cloud chasing RDA, just for the fun of it Have also only smoked 2 cigarettes today, going for a cig free day tomorrow. If I make it, it would be more or less the first time in 43 years oooerrrrr

Sounds like you are approaching this in a logical and organised way, reefcat, great stuff! Something like a Mephisto or Plume Veil would be a good choice of dripper - both can be built with either single or double coils, and the airflow adjusted accordingly, and from Fasttech they would cost less than £20 for both! Best of luck on a smoke-free day, and let us know how you get on

+1 for both the Mephisto and the Plume Veil, the Mephisto is especially easy to coil for a beginner having very large holes in the posts.

Ordered a Plume Veil & Royal Hunter RDA from fastech this morning. Bought a Mutation x V3 from the B&M shop in Albufeira too. Happily vaping and no cigarettes.
Just got to catch up on coil building, so You Tube will be my friend over the next few days.
