Consistency and flavour sweet spot are the main advantages and no dry hits. I generally drip all the time (must go to the docs) When the dripper starts to dry up, all you get is less vapor, no burn taste AT ALL even if you vape the wick dry, so you aren`t getting the nasties, formaldahyde etc that you may get from a drying wick on a normal device.

Thank you everybody for explaining all this to me I totally understand it all now. And the main thing is I can use it or not use it if I wish which is fantastic , I don't really get dry hits because I always refill but it's a good feature that if you do ever get to the bottom your not going to get one. I suppose it's like everything finding what suites you . I've noticed with the joytech temp control mod you get nickel and titanium coil in the kit which would be good to have a practise on , I did hear before that nickel is very soft and can be tricky to build . Do any of you find that your juice does last longer ??? Thank you once again for all the replies I'm glad I asked now

I think my juice is lasting longer @yavape, you don't waste any, mainly because you never burn any, and you use every last drop in the tank

www.joyetech.com/product/details.php?gno=254I've been having a nosey at this only draw back for me is the battery being in it but it is a huge mah and it will be a good quality battery plus I'm sure there's someone who'd be able to work round that. You can buy from ft for £52 for just the mod , but for me with dizzy code it works out around £72 for the full kit ,charger, tank, nickel and titanium coil etc so an extra £20 is a no brainier really as I use ft all the time but if I'm spending this sort of money I want the security of being able to return easily. It might even have lowered a bit when it gets to my birthday and I have plenty of time to have a good look at other temp controls out there.

Another little bonus is you can wash a cotton wick in water and dry it like by firing on a temp limiting mod (not the SX though) we used to do with silica and get it bone dry without damaging it. Together with being able to vape tanks bone dry without nasties means you can change flavours with no wasted e-liquid.

I think anyone buying a VW mod now would be silly not to go for a temp limiting device @yavape especially if spending a lot of money. As you see the main gripe is building with nickel, it is restricting in the coils you can build because of the low resistance as decoy has pointed out, and some detect a different flavour and prefer kanthal. The main thing is you have to think differently when building with nickel, and once you do it becomes second nature. Knowing how perceptive you are @yavape I think you would appreciate temp limiting, and if not then fit a kanthal coil. Oh, and now nickel ribbon is available you can use your favourite tiger coils

I don't rate TC, been playing around with it for a few days and my normal builds work even better IMO than the nickel ones. Have used both occ and my own builds, too much faffing about making em and I really don't see any improvement. It MAY change when my other TC mod arrives as I've only one mod thats got that function, so I don't know if it's working 100%. I'm happy on the old stuff

Try winding a nickel coil (ni200 0.3 works just fine) on a M4 bolt - four or five winds comes in at around 0.10 to 0.15 ohms, and it's a piece of cake to do. On Kayfun style decks you can leave the wire on the bolt while securing the leads, then simply twist the bolt to unwind it. Perfectly spaced coils in no time.

I want to know if anyone has tried this.
Apparently makes the nickel easier to work with......and will only throw the temp sensing off by 10°F.

I'm happy on the old stuff For the first two weeks I had mine I could have thrown it as far as I could, it was about 3/4 weeks before I really got it sussed. Up 'till then I shared your view that my old stuff was much better. Think how long it took you to get where you are now with kanthal from where you first started, was it a few days?

just because tc is the new thing that dusnt make all non tc mods obsolete, i would take a normal mod over a tc mod without having to think about it.

Yes that's a fair point but I did take to kanthal much quicker, as soon as I found how to coil that was it, sold. I went from an evod to a patriot, then nautilus with in a week. It was the patriot that got me into dripping and I still use it now
