Ok, so downloaded a little app called ejuice me up, which i believe should help me work out the correct amount of each thing to use, and will be keeping notes on each try i make, so i can adjust till i get each flavour how i want it.
Distilled water or vodka? which gives a better result? And would i need either if im looking to use at least 30% pg??

I buy my vg and pg from classikool - then I ask in the forum where at the moment the cheapest nic bases are available - then I make a flavour less base - about a litre - then I use measuring cylinders - and mix on 20 % - so 1 full 10ml bottle of concentrate topped up to 50 ml - let it steep - enjoy vaping

You don't need it.
Although some pre-mix their VG with a little water or vodka to make it easier to work with.

Cool, so will have some distilled water to hand before i start then am already planning to raid 99p store for measuring and mixing containers Make sure you've got distilled, rather than de-ionised, water. Any Tesco Pharmacy will be happy to order what the call "Purified Water" for you, usually available for collection the following day. Weirdly, the smallest bottle they can get is 2ltr and costs about £2.50.

If you'll forgive me . . . . too much is made of how difficult it is to draw a VG base/VG up. Do away with needles completely and use a small cup, shot glass, the cap of a mouthwash bottle ( anything really! ) pour some of your VG base/VG into that and draw up using a syringe. Couldn't be easier. This is a great bit of advice and as a new mixer myself it makes it a lot easier. In fact I decant my nic base and PG as well as my VG before syringing it up without a needle. Old cheap shot glasses are great for it and are easy to wash out as well. Only thing I use the needle for is the flavour concentrate.
